ABC FAMILY LAUNCHES USER-GENERATED CAMPAIGN YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS ABOUT ME TO CAPTURE THE AUTHENTIC VOICES OF THE MILLENIAL GENERATION

The Online Initiative Asks Viewers to Submit Original Videos and Written Works of Self-Expression

Burbank, CA (May 22, 2013) - ABC Family launched a digital campaign YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS ABOUT ME today to provide its millennial audience with an open forum to speak their mind and let their voices be heard.

In conjunction with poet and youth arts advocate Azure Antoinette, ABC Family is asking millennials to submit original videos and written works that best illustrate their sense of self-identity. Already a viewing destination for the millennial generation, the network is strengthening its relationship with its audience by providing a unique outlet for them to express themselves and share the beliefs, dreams and goals that define them. People will be able to vote for their favorite story by "liking" it on abcfamily.com and the top two winners will each be awarded a $10,000 cash prize.

For the participants in need of some inspiration, sample videos of material written by real millennials and performed by ABC Family stars are available at youshouldknow.abcfamily.com/. Keegan Allen ("Pretty Little Liars") performs "A Letter To My Bully," Chelsea Kane ("Baby Daddy") voices "I'm Type A," and Katie Leclerc ("Switched at Birth") performs "I Will Change the World."

All entries must be original works. Entrants must be a legal resident, currently reside within the 50 states or District of Columbia and be between the ages of 14-22. No purchase necessary to enter. The submission deadline is Friday, July 12th; voting will close on Friday, July 19th. For the complete list of official rules, please visit youshouldknow.abcfamily.com/.
