LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2013 - Sherri Shepherd is set to guest star in a recurring role on the ninth season premiere of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, titled "The Locket," to be broadcast Monday, Sept. 23 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Sherri will play Daphne, a woman traveling to New York on the same flight as Marshall.

"We're all extremely excited to have Sherri Shepherd joining HIMYM for an arc in Season 9!" said co-creator and executive producer Craig Thomas. "She is hilarious and delightful and perfect for this part - we couldn't be more thrilled!"

Best known for her co-hosting duties on "The View," Shepherd has appeared in numerous television series and feature films including "Everybody Loves Raymond," on the Network, "Sherri," which she executive produced and starred in, "30 Rock," "Less than Perfect" and "Precious," among many others.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, now in its ninth and final season, stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan.
