Netflix Announces the Start of Production on 'Jotadé', the Adaptation of Santiago Díaz's Novel
Isaac Díaz, Aura Garrido, Jose Coronado and Jaime Lorente star in this crime thriller set in Madrid, directed by Daniel Calparsoro
Netflix today announced the start of production on Jotadé, a four-episode limited series based on the first novel in the series by Spanish author Santiago Díaz, published by Alfaguara (Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial). MOD Producciones is behind the series, with Fernando Bovaira serving as producer and Guillem Vidal-Folch as executive producer.
The crime thriller stars Isaac Díaz as Jotadé, alongside Aura Garrido (The Ministry of Time, The Innocent) as Lucía, Jose Coronado (The Final Problem, The Truthers) as Hilario Garza, and Jaime Lorente (Money Heist, Elite) as Tony Garza. The cast also includes María de Nati (Wrong Side of the Tracks, The Good Boss), Alberto Olmo (Montecristo, Un lío de millones), Melania Cruz, Carmen Avilés, Moreno Borja (One Hundred Years of Solitude, Carmen & Lola), Rafaela León (Carmen & Lola), Antonio Zafra, and Álvaro Rico (The Gardener, The Tribute), with special guest appearance by Javier Gutiérrez (Marshland, Champions).
Jotadé is an unconventional police officer: brazen and irreverent, yet sharp, sincere, and fiercely loyal to both his colleagues and his Romani community. When he's assigned to investigate a brutal crime that conceals a dangerous criminal network, he faces an impossible mission for a cop who's never learned how to go unnoticed.
The limited series is written by Isa Sánchez and Daniel Corpas, and directed by Daniel Calparsoro (Salvador, Bank Under Siege).
