HBO Receives 108 Primetime Emmy(R) Nominations, the Most of Any Network This Year
"Game of Thrones" led all HBO nominees with 16 nominations, while "Behind the Candelabra" received 15 nominations.

HBO RECEIVES 108 PRIMETIME EMMY(R) NOMINATIONS, THE MOST OF ANY NETWORK THIS YEAR; GAME OF THRONES LEADS ALL HBO PROGRAMMING WITH 16 NOMINATIONS

"Behind The Candelabra" Receives 15 Nominations; "Phil Spector" Receives 11 Nominations; "Boardwalk Empire" Receives 10 Nominations

LOS ANGELES, July 18, 2013 - HBO received 108 Primetime Emmy(R) nominations, the most of any network for the 13th year in a row, for the upcoming 65th Primetime Emmy Awards(R), which were announced today in Los Angeles.

"Game of Thrones" led all HBO nominees with 16 nominations, while "Behind the Candelabra" received 15 nominations, "Phil Spector" received 11 nominations and "Boardwalk Empire" received 10 nominations.

HBO's Emmy(R) nominations this year include:

* 16 nominations for "Game of Thrones," including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Peter Dinklage), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Emilia Clarke), Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Diana Rigg) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss).

* 15 nominations for "Behind the Candelabra," including Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, 2 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Matt Damon, Michael Douglas) Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Scott Bakula), Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Steven Soderbergh) and Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Richard LaGravenese).

* 11 nominations for "Phil Spector," including Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Al Pacino), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Helen Mirren), Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (David Mamet) and Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (David Mamet).

* 10 nominations for "Boardwalk Empire," including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Bobby Cannavale) and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Tim Van Patten).

* 6 nominations for "The Girl," including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Toby Jones), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Imelda Staunton) and Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Julian Jarrold).

* 5 nominations for "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God," including Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming (Alex Gibney) and Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming (Alex Gibney).

* 5 nominations for "Parade's End," including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special (Tom Stoppard).

* 5 nominations for "Veep," including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Tony Hale) and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Anna Chlumsky).

* 4 nominations for "Crossfire Hurricane," including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

* 4 nominations for "Louis C.K.: Oh My God," including Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special (Louis C.K.) and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special (Louis C.K.).

* 3 nominations for "The Newsroom," including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Jeff Daniels) and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Jane Fonda).

* 2 nominations for "Enlightened," including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Laura Dern) and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series (Molly Shannon).

* 2 nominations for "Manhunt: The Inside Story of the Hunt for Bin Laden," including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

* 2 nominations for "Real Time with Bill Maher," including Outstanding Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

* 2 nominations for "2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony."

Other HBO nominees include "An Apology to Elephants," "Mel Brooks Strikes Back!," "True Blood," "VICE," "The Weight of the Nation for Kids: Quiz Ed!" and "A YoungArts Masterclass." Also receiving Emmy(R) nominations were "Game of Thrones Season Three Enhanced Digital Experience" and the CINEMAX series "Banshee."

The Primetime Emmy(R) Awards will be announced Sept. 22.
