TLC SPOTLIGHTS HOLLYWOOD HOPEFULS IN "RAISING FAME"
[Los Angeles, CA] - Many kids grow up dreaming of what it would be like to be famous. For most, it's just a passing fantasy, yet, every year thousands flock to Hollywood in an attempt to turn that dream into a reality. In TLC's new one-hour special RAISING FAME, airing Wednesday, August 7th at 9:30PM, three mother-daughter duos take big risks and lay it all on the line for the unlikely chance of becoming the next superstar.
RAISING FAME follows Hollywood hopefuls Amber, D'Lannie and Presley as they attempt to make their dreams come true in the City of Angels. With their momagers in tow, they've packed up their entire lives and left family behind for a chance to grab their own piece of celebrity pie.
After eight pilot seasons and zero auditions, 15 year old Presley Cash is still living with her mother, Sandy, in a one bedroom in the Oakwood apartment complex. Presley has been through almost a dozen agents, cutting ties with those who are unable to understand her "brand." With pilot season around the corner, she needs to find new representation or risk heading into her ninth pilot season with yet another strike out.
18 year old D'Lainnie Brown moved from Dallas with her mother Michelle to pursue her dreams of becoming the next Britney Spears. In order to advise her daughter and continue to pay the bills, Michelle is forced to juggle her momager duties while running her Texas based real estate business from afar. After years of rejection, $200,000 and a few industry scams later, D'Lainnie's rabid pursuit of her making it big is on the cusp of coming true.
Alabama native Amber Diamond, 17 years old, came to Los Angeles with her family a year ago in pursuit of a seven figure salary. Her mother Shun is the force behind that vision and is determined to make the Diamond clan into the next Hollywood "it" family. She has made it her mission to see to it that her children find success no matter what the cost. Business and blood don't always mix well and tensions rise when Amber and Shun's visions for her career veer off in different directions.
In this cut throat industry, the girls quickly learn that not everything that sparkles in Tinsel Town is gold. These unstoppable duos are obsessed with the pursuit of fame and TLC's RAISING FAME takes a deeper look at these mother-daughter relationships under the bright lights of Hollywood.
TLC's RAISING FAME premieres Wednesday, August 7th at 9:30PM ET/PT and is produced by Authentic Entertainment, LLC.
