DEAN CAIN TO HOST SPIKE TV'S NEW ORIGINAL SERIES, "10 MILLION DOLLAR BIGFOOT BOUNTY"
Series Features Competing Teams of Explorers Searching for Irrefutable Proof of Bigfoot's Existence for Massive Ten Million Dollar Prize
New York, NY - July 24, 2013 - Dean Cain ("Hit the Floor") is set to lead the most ambitious and extensive hunt for the ever-elusive Sasquatch in Spike TV's "10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty." Cain will host the unique competition series that features nine teams comprised of lifelong Bigfoot hunters and big game hunters as they use groundbreaking scientific technology to comb the Pacific Northwest for undisputable proof of Bigfoot's existence in hopes of taking home one of the largest cash prizes in television history. The $10 million in cash is underwritten by Lloyd's of London. Currently in production, the new one-hour reality series is set to premiere January, 2014 on Spike TV.
An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Cain will serve as the expedition leader helping the teams of "squatchers" as they use their skills to compete for a $10 million dollar prize. Each episode will follow the different teams as they search some of the most famous Bigfoot "hotzones" in America. Utilizing a state-of-the-art mobile DNA lab, teams will ply their extensive research and presumed knowledge of the legendary creature to collect scientific samples, often battling nature's inhospitable conditions.
Cain is best known for his starring role as Superman/Clark Kent on the immensely popular ABC series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." He has served as host on the long-running TBS series "Ripley's Believe It Or Not!," which he also produced through his Angry Dragon Entertainment. His other credits include "The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story," "The Broken Hearts Club," "Out of Time" and NBC's "Stars Earn Stripes," which benefitted the Wounded Warrior Project, for which Cain was a finalist. An all-American football player at Princeton and former NFL football player on the Buffalo Bills, Cain is currently starring in VH1's hit series, "Hit the Floor," which was just recently renewed for a second season.
"10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty" is produced by Charlie Corwin's Original Media ("Swamp People," "Ink Master") with Corwin, Mike Riley and Emmy(R) Award-winner Jon Kroll ("The Amazing Race," "Big Brother") as Executive Producers. Spike TV has ordered 8 one-hour episodes.
Sharon Levy is Spike TV's Executive Vice President, Original Series and Chris Rantamaki and Kevin Bartel serve as the network's Executives in Charge of Production.
