By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

AMERICAN GIRLS ON VACATION (Showtime, New!) - Michael Green ("The River") is developing a half-hour comedy at the pay channel about "the overseas vacation of three BFFs." 3 Arts Entertainment's Erwin Stoff also serves as an executive producer on the half-hour, which is presumably set up at 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)

THE LONGEST DATE (FOX, New!) - Cindy Chupack ("Modern Family") and Jake Kasdan ("New Girl") have booked a pilot production commitment from the network for a new comedy which "examines the comedy and cringe-worthy aspects of matrimony." The single-camera project is based on Chupack's upcoming memoir of the same name, subtitled "Life as a Wife." Chupack and Kasdan will write and direct, respectively, as well as executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television with the latter's producing partner Melvin Mar. (Deadline.com)

TRAVELERS (ABC, New!) - David Magee (Life of Pi) has sold a potential drama to the Alphabet about "a man who brings his family to a wake for the father he never knew, only to discover that the doors inside his father's estate are time portals which trap them in the house and send them on a journey through history." Michael Green and 3 Arts Entertainment's Erwin Stoff are also on board to executive produce the 20th Century Fox Television-based project, which has a penalty attached. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Antonio Sabato Jr. will guest on "Castle" in an episode about a murder on the set of a big screen revival of a "Saved by the Bell"-esque series (TVGuide.com); newcomer Antoinette Robertson is bound for "Hart of Dixie" as Lavon's (Cress Williams) troublemaking cousin while Josh Cooke will drop by as "a New Yorker who finds himself a fish out of water in Bluebell" (THR.com, TVLine.com); Jeremy Jordan and Lynn Collins will both visit "Elementary" as "the son of the surgical patient who died in Watson's care" and "a brilliant and beguiling math professor who helps Sherlock and Joan with the investigation of two murdered mathematicians," respectively (TVLine.com); and Trevor Donovan will guest on "Drop Dead Diva" as "the worst 'best man' ever" (THR.com).
