VH1 Makes A Miami Move As Big Ang Brings The Heat To South Beach
"MIAMI MONKEY" PREMIERES ON VH1 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th, 2013 AT 10:00 PM ET/PT
NEW YORK, Aug. 1, 2013 -- VH1 mixes up the ultimate cocktail of work + play with the premiere of "Miami Monkey" on Sunday, September 8th at 10:00 PM ET/PT. "Mob Wives" resident party girl Big Ang heads to the sizzling south to make her mark on the Miami party scene by opening up the second outpost of her infamous Staten Island bar, The Drunken Monkey. To ensure the success of "Miami Monkey" as the newest South Beach hotspot, Ang enlists the help of a crew of Staten Island beauties and SoBe hotties to come along for the ride. The heat is on when fiery New York personalities and sexy South Beach locals work side by side to launch a new business. Will Ang's dreams of success in the Sunshine State come true? Or will she return to Staten Island disappointed and broke?
Joining Big Ang in Miami is her bossy 'mini-me' daughter Raquel, 28. Because she has a 9-to-5 job back in New York, Raquel will be commuting to Miami on the weekends to work at the bar. When Raquel is out of town, her friend Roxanne, 27, will be managing the Miami Monkey. Roxanne is one of Raquel's closest friends - and when she married Big Ang's nephew Ronnie, she became family. Loud-mouthed and opinionated, there will be no monkey business at the Miami Monkey on Roxanne's watch.
Rounding out the New Yorkers are Ryan, Marissa, and Gabby. Ryan, 26, is Raquel's best friend, and is known as one of the best bartenders in Staten Island - she often clashes with Raquel, and Ang has hired, fired and re-hired her so many times she can't count. Marissa, 29, is a party girl who sports the skimpiest of outfits. Big Ang knows that between her beautiful body and her mind for business, Marissa is going to be a valuable member of the Miami Monkey team. Ang's son AJ is dating Gabby, 20, a naive, beautiful, and newly busty part of the gang. Gabby hopes to cement her place in the family by helping to launch Big Ang and Raquel's new business.
Staten Island may own the sass - but Miami brings the fire when three locals join the Miami Monkey crew. Morgan, 24, bartends at the hottest spots in town - she's a known entity in the South Beach nightlife and her contentious personality inevitably leads to conflicts with her Staten Island counterparts at the Miami Monkey. Cristina, 27, is a spicy, energetic, and flirty bartender. She's a hard worker, but her drinking gets her into a lot of trouble. Nate Ryan, 26, is the ultimate multi-hyphenate. He works as a bartender-DJ- model-music producer-water sports instructor. Nate Ryan is a single ladies' man who doesn't mind that girls are lined up around the block to get their hands on his tanned and tattooed body.
Developed from a concept by executive producer Jennifer Graziano of JustJenn Productions, "Miami Monkey" is also produced by The Weinstein Company (Bob Weinstein, Harvey Weinstein, David Glasser and Meryl Poster), Electus (Ben Silverman, Jimmy Fox) and Left/Right (Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman, and Nina L.
