LOS ANGELES - September 22, 2013 - SHOWTIME was honored with seven Primetime Emmy Award wins in top categories at the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, tied for the most wins ever in the network's history. For the second consecutive year, HOMELAND's Claire Danes was honored for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Additionally, Laura Linney was recognized for THE BIG C: hereafter, Merritt Wever for her role on NURSE JACKIE, and Henry Bromell received a rare posthumous Emmy Award win for his writing on HOMELAND. The network scored 32 nominations this year across nine series, miniseries, interactive programs and documentaries, the most nominations ever in SHOWTIME history.

Claire Danes was honored for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, her second consecutive win for HOMELAND for her critically-acclaimed role as "Carrie Mathison," and her third Emmy win. Acclaimed writer and HOMELAND executive producer Henry Bromell was honored with a rare posthumous win for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for the fifth episode of the series' second season, "Q&A." Bromell was honored with his first-ever nomination and win this year. The highly-anticipated third season of HOMELAND premieres next Sunday, September 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT only on SHOWTIME.

An outstanding 13 actors on SHOWTIME were nominated this year for their work on the network's original series, the most performers ever nominated for the network. THE BIG C: hereafter's Laura Linney was honored as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role as "Cathy Jamison." Linney is now a four-time Emmy winner. THE BIG C switched categories earlier this year as the series concluded with a limited event run. After two consecutive nominations, Merritt Wever was recognized with her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for NURSE JACKIE. The network's top-rated comedy, NURSE JACKIE received five Emmy nominations this year.

Additionally, SHOWTIME was honored with three Emmy Award wins at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award Ceremony last weekend, with wins for Outstanding Sound Mixing for NURSE JACKIE, Outstanding Costumes for THE BORGIAS, and Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming for the network's acclaimed documentary HISTORY OF THE EAGLES.

The Primetime Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in national primetime programming, awarding top honors at the annual Creative Arts and Primetime Awards ceremonies. A symbol of peer recognition from over 15,000 Television Academy members, more than two-dozen peer groups vote for the category of competition in their field of expertise.
