NEW YORK, December 10, 2013 - They hustle. They struggle. It's not just New York City.

It's "Broad City." Upright Citizens Brigade alums Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer bring their critically-acclaimed digital series to Comedy Central as a weekly, half-hour scripted series beginning Wednesday, January 22 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, following the season four premiere of "Workaholics."

Courtesy of the collective brains of and starring Jacobson and Glazer, "Broad City" is an odd couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City whose adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths. They're broke, flawed and don't shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them -- they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.

In the premiere episode, "What a Wonderful World," Abbi and Ilana will do whatever it takes to scrounge up enough cash to buy tickets to a Lil' Wayne concert. From performing in Washington Square Park to stealing office supplies, the girls exercise their DIY approach and put on the hustle to get the funds.

Joining Jacobson and Glazer as series regulars are Hannibal Buress, Arturo Castro, Paul Downs, John Gemberling, Chris Gethard and Stephen Schneider. The ten-episode first season is executive produced by Amy Poehler, 3 Arts' Dave Becky, Generate's Sam Saifer, and Jacobson and Glazer, along with Tony Hernandez as Co-Executive Producer ("Louie"). Brooke Posch is the Executive in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.

Described as "passionate, funny and sometimes raunchy" by The New York Times, their dynamic relationship, combined with their impeccable comedic timing and chemistry, has earned Jacobson and Glazer praise from The Wall Street Journal, Time Out NY, Entertainment Weekly and AV Club, among others. The series has been nominated for the ECNY's "Best Web Series" award; Jacobson and Glazer also were nominated individually.

Starting January 6, the entire premiere episode will be available to stream on cc.com and free on iTunes and throughout the season fans can watch preview clips and get an extended look at the season on the "Broad City" web site, including exclusive videos with the show's ensemble. Beginning today, fans can also follow Abbi and Ilana on Instagram, instagram.com/broadcity and get a behind-the-scenes look at the show's production on Tumblr, broadcity.tumblr.com. In addition, the "Broad City" Facebook page facebook.com/BroadCity will be updated multiple times every week with the latest content from the show.

Episodes from "Broad City" will be available in SD and HD the day after premiere on iTunes, Xbox Video, Amazon Instant Video, Sony Entertainment Network and Vudu.
