MASTERS OF SEX Nominated For Best TV Drama
NEW YORK - December 12, 2013 - SHOWTIME was honored with six Golden Globe nominations this morning, where the network's freshman series were resoundingly embraced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association with nominations in major categories. The network's hit freshman drama MASTERS OF SEX was nominated for Best Television Series, Drama, along with lead actor Michael Sheen, recognized for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television series, Drama, his first-ever Golden Globe nomination. The network's No. 1 rated freshman series ever, RAY DONOVAN, continued its impressive first year run with nods for lead actor Liev Schreiber and supporting actor Jon Voight. On the comedy front, Don Cheadle is now a four-time nominee, honored once again for his performance on HOUSE OF LIES (he won the Globe earlier this year), and NURSE JACKIE's Edie Falco received a nod for her lead role on NURSE JACKIE. SHOWTIME is tied for the most actor nominations of any network or platform this year.
Edie Falco has been nominated three times for her role as "Jackie Peyton" on NURSE JACKIE and this morning's nomination marks her tenth overall Golden Globe nod. RAY DONOVAN's Jon Voight also scored his tenth Golden Globe nomination this morning, and his first ever series nomination. Lead actor Liev Schreiber also received his first ever series nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television series, Drama for RAY DONOVAN. Schreiber was previously nominated for his work in film.
The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will air on Sunday, January 12, 2013, LIVE coast-to-coast from Los Angeles. The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards will be seen in more than 192 countries and is produced by dick clark productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
