INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY KICKS OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH ITS BIGGEST MONTH OF PREMIERES IN NETWORK HISTORY

--Investigation Discovery Debuts Thirteen New and Returning Series Starting January 1st --

(Silver Spring, MD) - This January, Investigation Discovery (ID), America's favorite "guilty pleasure" network, resolves to ring in the New Year with a programming slate jam-packed with mystery and suspense. January will mark ID's biggest month of premieres in network history with five all-new and eight returning hit series.

The holidays are a time of keeping good company and reconnecting with friends. But in three all-new riveting series, ID will leave you wondering how well you truly know a person. Premiering Wednesday, January 8 at 10/9c, WEB OF LIES reveals tales of deception triggered by the online world. From black widow wives hiding behind alter-egos to obsessive lovers enacting their disturbing violent fantasies, each episode untangles the truth behind the web of lies. On Monday, January 13 at 9/8c, MURDER COMES TO TOWN brings light to the darkest and most sinister secrets in towns where neighbors turn against each other. Evil lurks behind the white picket fences and strikes without warning. Finally, IMPOSTORS, premiering Friday, January 24 at 10/9c, explores the quickest and riskiest path to success: deceit. When hard work doesn't pay off, there are some who will take great lengths to get noticed - even if that means adopting a false identity.

These new series join the previously-announced originals OBSESSION: DARK DESIRES, where women share their emotional stories of survival against obsessive stalkers premiering Tuesday, January 14 at 10/9c; and TABLOID, hosted by the king of tabloid television, Jerry Springer, premiering Thursday, January 16 at 10/9c. Springer peels back the curtain to probe the most bizarre, larger-than-life stories you can't possibly imagine.

ID also welcomes back eight returning original network series to its January slate. Premieres include:

· Season two of MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET on Wednesday, January 1 at 9/8c asks how far you would go to keep a big, bad secret from being spilled. Would you kill?

· All-new stories of friendships gone wrong are investigated on season two of FRENEMIES: LOYALTY TURNED LETHAL beginning Thursday, January 2 at 9/8c.

· SCORNED: LOVE KILLS returns Saturday, January 4 at 10/9c for a third season that examines the dark side of love fueled by senseless motives.

· Murders committed in the harshest of climates are explored in season three of ICE COLD KILLERS starting Tuesday, January 7 at 8/7c.

· Dark secrets of small town America are exposed on NIGHTMARE NEXT DOOR, returning for season four on Friday, January 24 at 9/8c.

ID's full January programming slate follows below:

ALL-NEW SERIES

WEB OF LIES
Premieres Wednesday, January 8 at 10/9c
In the online world, you never really know who you're talking to. This series reveals stories of deception and homicide triggered by online interactions. From the black widow wives hiding behind alter-egos to jilted lovers stalking their exes, from obsessive lovers enacting their disturbing fantasies to shocking tales of kidnap, violence and deception - each episode follows stories with jaw-dropping twists and turns as the web of lies is revealed.

MURDER COMES TO TOWN
Premieres Monday, January 13 at 9/8c
Beyond the boundaries of ordinary life, there is another world that lies just outside of town, where places have no names. Investigating forgotten communities and shallow graves past the perimeters of society, MURDER COMES TO TOWN reveals what can happen in these solitary and desolate places. Gripping tales of betrayal and murder unfold as told by friends, family, and neighbors of the deceased. In places mere minutes from town but millions of miles from civilization, normal rules don't apply, and absolutely anything can happen.

OBSESSION: DARK DESIRES
Premieres Tuesday, January 14 at 10/9c
When desire overtakes reason, the human mind can unleash deadly obsession. OBSESSION: DARK DESIRES provides a chilling look into the mechanics of an obsessive mind and the devastating impact of delusional fantasy. Women share their emotional stories of survival against obsessive stalkers who would do anything to satisfy their all-consuming infatuation.

TABLOID
Premieres Thursday, January 16 at 10/9c
Guaranteed to satisfy inquiring minds, the one-hour show, hosted by the Emmy Award-winning king of tabloid television, Jerry Springer, peels back the curtain to probe the most bizarre larger-than-life stories you can't possibly imagine. Baring all of the twists and turns, and macabre motivations behind eye-catching criminal accounts, TABLOID unearths the most mind-blowing headlines of your favorite checkout line magazines exposing the biggest stories of the day.

IMPOSTORS
Premieres Friday, January 24 at 10/9c
Wealth. Power. Influence. Everybody wants them, but only a select few ever get them. When hard work and talent aren't enough, how do you get yourself noticed? IMPOSTORS explores schemers who have taken the quickest, riskiest, and dirtiest path to success: deceit. Exposing true accounts of real fraud, the series uncovers shocking stories of shrewd people who do almost anything to con their way into worlds of prestige and luxury.

RETURNING SERIES

MY DIRTY LITTLE SERCRET
Premieres Wednesday, January 1 at 9/8c
Everybody's got something to hide. Don't deny it. Deep down, you've got a DIRTY LITTLE SECRET. From the perfect housewife next door to the beloved community pastor, everyone has a few skeletons rattling around in their closet. But what if someone uncovered those skeletons? How far would you go to keep your secret from being spilled?

FRENEMIES: LOYALTY TURNED LETHAL
Premieres Thursday, January 2 at 9/8c
Exploring riveting stories of loyalty betrayed, FRENEMIES: LOYALTY TURNED LETHAL shows what happens when friendships fall apart at the seams. Each episode traces friendships through good times to their gradual demise, as things turn sour and end in shocking, violent confrontation. What happened that turned these former friends into deadly frenemies?

SCORNED: LOVE KILLS
Premieres Saturday, January 4 at 10/9c
SCORNED: LOVE KILLS examines the dark side of love with a voyeuristic peek into the lust and obsession that fueled some of the most senseless, but definitely not emotionless, crimes to make front-page headlines. From dalliances with dancers to a love triangle born from an underground swingers' club, the stories featured in SCORNED pair sexual intrigue with bedded betrayal to form a recipe for murder.

ICE COLD KILLERS
Premieres Tuesday, January 7 at 8/7c
As America's last true frontier, Alaska is an ideal destination for people wanting to experience the intrinsic beauty of isolated nature - but its wilderness also provides the perfect setting for keeping secrets. Diving into its third season, the series explores the most violent night in Alaska that left seven dead, the murder of an eleven-year-old girl in an isolated Alaskan village, and evidence at the scene of a crime that reveals a horrific pre-recorded message leading to an unthinkable killer.

REDRUM
Premieres Tuesday, January 7 at 9/8c
When it comes to murder, no detective starts their search at the beginning of the crime. Rather, a murder investigation always begins with the body, after the deed is done. It is up to the police to piece together the story, moving backwards in time until they arrive at the root of the crime. In ID's new series REDRUM, viewers follow the backwards tale of murder from false motives and mistaken witnesses to conversations taken completely out of context, until the truth finally comes out at the very end.

WHO THE (BLEEP) DID I MARRY?
Premieres Saturday, January 11 at 8/7c
Pulling back the curtain on bizarre double lives, WHO THE (BLEEP) DID I MARRY? examines stories of couples in which one spouse has hidden a shocking secret. From bank robbers to bigamists and international spies, these sometimes shocking characters will have viewers shaking their heads in disbelief and wondering how the truths behind these scandalous spouses were kept hidden for so long.

DEADLY SINS
Premieres Saturday, January 11 at 9/8c
When the basic desires of human nature come up against the darkest corners of the human soul, temptations can often be fatal. DEADLY SINS looks at the true evils that push everyday individuals beyond the limits of the law. From gluttony and greed to lust, envy, sloth, wrath, and pride, this series reveals scandalous crimes driven by human instincts. Guiding viewers is attorney Darren Kavinoky, a criminal behavior expert who provides professional insight and legal expertise in his analysis of each case.

NIGHTMARE NEXT DOOR
Premieres Friday, January 24 at 9/8c
How well do you know your neighbors? NIGHTMARE NEXT DOOR tells the tales of mysterious murders from behind white picket fences that rocked Middle America. Each hour brings a new look into the evil that can lurk in the heart and soul of a tight-knit community. Interviews with investigators, prosecutors, family members and/or neighbors piece together the twisting tale of a classic whodunit, and forensic experiments lead viewers into the heart of the investigation.
