EL REY NETWORK ANNOUNCES NEW SERIES OF SPECIALS FROM GURNEY PRODUCTIONS, PRODUCER OF HIT REALITY SERIES, "DUCK DYNASTY", AND VICE MEDIA

Scott and Deirdre Gurney Join Forces with El Rey Network and VICE Media To Pull Back The Curtain on America's Youth Subcultures

Pasadena, CA- January 12, 2014 - It has been said that the counterculture is now the establishment and El Rey Network explores this phenomenon with a series of specials produced by Gurney Productions. Scott and Deirdre Gurney, creators and executive producers of hits including Auction Hunters, American Guns, Shark Week and Duck Dynasty, the number one non-fiction series and one of the highest rated cable shows on television, will work with El Rey Network and VICE Media, the global youth brand and content creator, to develop a series of edgy hour specials which will examine interesting, off beat subcultures and movements.

Finding interesting subcultures is the most difficult part of creating reality programing. VICE is well known for probing into some of the world's most fascinating subcultures. VICE's Mexico division will assume a leading role in developing the series, collaborating with the youth brand's US operation.

Robert Rodriguez, Founder and Chairman of El Rey Network, said: "From their distinctive style to their storytelling sensibility, Scott and Deirdre are the perfect match for El Rey Network. This show will generate a dialogue and create exposure for subcultures that have yet to be explored by mainstream media."

"We are excited to be working with El Rey Network, VICE and Robert Rodriguez to showcase a previously hidden America -we hope that as we begin to pull back the curtain, viewers will become fascinated, as we were, with the compelling subjects that we explore. As storytellers, we couldn't have more engaging and better material than what is in our own backyard," said Scott Gurney, Gurney Productions.

The Gurneys are joined in executive producer ranks by Rodriguez and FactoryMade Ventures and El Rey Network co-founders John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa.
