BLACK-ISH (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Kenya Barris; D: TBA) - The Anthony Anderson-led comedy - about "an upper-middle-class black man (Anderson) who struggles to raise his children with some sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father, and his own assimilated, color-blind kids" - has snagged a pilot order from the network. Kenya Barris penned the single-camera project and is executive producing alongside Anderson, Cinema Gypsy's Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland and Principato-Young Entertainment's Peter Principato, Paul Young and Brian Dobbins. CABOT COLLEGE (FOX/Universal; W: Matt Hubbard; D: Pamela Fryman) - "Chelsea Lately" mainstay Fortune Feimster has joined the cast of the multi-camera comedy pilot, about a women's college that begins accepting men for the first time in its history. She'll play Becca, "a popular sophomore at the college, an out-of-the-closet lesbian who is not tortured by her sexual orientation in the least. A three-sport varsity athlete, she is outgoing, extremely loud and a raucous partier." Bonnie Dennison and Jack Cutmore-Scott also star while Tina Fey and Robert Carlock are also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
CLEMENTINE (ABC/ABC Studios; W: Dean Georgaris; D: TBA) - Dean Georgaris's drama - about "a habitual criminal who digs into the mystery of her origins after she becomes the target of a group of zealots who fear she possesses latent supernatural abilities that she will one day harness for either profound good or monstrous evil" - has been given a pilot commitment by the Alphabet. Also serving as executive producers are Ilene Staple, Mark Gordon and Nicholas Pepper. (Deadline.com)
HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN (A&E, New!) - John Wirth ("Hell on Wheels") is spearheading a revival of the 1984-1989 drama, which centered on an angel (Michael Landon) sent down to earth to help troubled souls. A&E Studios' Bob DeBitetto, Halfire-Core Entertainment's Noreen Halpern, Closest to the Hole Productions' Mark Wahlberg and Leverage Entertainment's Stephen Levinson are also on board to executive produce the hour as is Wayne Lepoff of the Landon estate. PUBLIC MORALS (TNT; W/D: Ed Burns) - Lyndon Smith, Elizabeth Masucci and Keith Nobbs have all joined the cast of the drama pilot, which is set in New York City in 1967 and "centers on the Public Morals Division, where cops walk the line between morality and criminality as the temptations that come from dealing with all kinds of vice can get the best of them." Smith will play Deirdre, "a beautiful beatnik and good neighborhood girl with eyes for Sean O'Bannon, a tough cop from the streets, and the sister to the local screw-up." Masucci then is set as Christine, Muldoon's (Burns) loving wife and mother of four; with Nobbs as Pat Duffy, a troublemaker fresh from prison that everyone knows not to trust. Michael Rapaport, Wass Stevens and Ruben Santiago Hudson also star. (THR.com)
SALVATION (A.K.A. UNTITLED LIZ HELDENS PROJECT) (NBC/Universal; W: Liz Heldens; D: TBA) - The Liz Heldens-penned drama - "a family saga set against the backdrop of a Texas mega church where faith, family and corruption are explored in equal measure" - has likewise landed a pilot green light from the Peacock. Said effort centers on Jennifer Strickland, "who has to defend her children, church and religious beliefs after her husband dies under mysterious circumstances." David Janollari of the Universal Television-based David Janollari Entertainment is also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KZK PROJECT (Netflix/Sony; W: Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman & Glenn Kessler; D: TBA) - Emmy-winner Kyle Chandler ("Friday Night Lights") has signed on to topline the drama series, about a family of adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. He'll reportedly play the married middle brother who takes care of the family. Filming is expected to begin in late March in the Florida Keys. (Deadline.com)
