OVATION PARTNERS WITH RED BULL MEDIA HOUSE TO PRESENT THE RED BULL BC ONE FINAL

The International Breakdancing Competition Featuring the World's Top Masters Premieres on February 22 at 12pm ET, Only on Ovation

Santa Monica, CA - February 13, 2014 - Ovation, America's only arts network, in partnership with Red Bull Media House, brings viewers a rare glimpse into the artistic and competitive world of breakdancing with the Red Bull BC One Final, premiering this month for the first time on television. After nine months of intense one-on-one battles across six continents and in a record 53 countries, more than 2,000 break dancers (aka "B-Boys") have competed in the hopes of securing a place in the World Final alongside past champions. The 10th Anniversary competition, which took place in Seoul, South Korea in November 2013, features 16 of the world's best B-Boys and premieres on Ovation on Saturday, February 22 at 12pm ET.

Red Bull BC One is the most important one-on-one B-Boy competitions in the world. Each year, thousands of B-Boys compete in national Cyphers (i.e. dance battle circles) for a spot in six finals held in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Middle East & Africa. Winners earn a ticket to the Red Bull BC One World Finals where 16 enter, but only one is crowned champion.

The first Red Bull BC One World Final was hosted in 2004 in Switzerland. Since then, the annual competition has moved from Germany to Brazil, South Africa, France, USA, Japan and Russia. The 2013 Red Bull BC One World Final celebrated the past decade of breaking as a global culture, as well as showcased the talent and skill that is required to become a top break dancer.

Ovation, whose mission is to inspire the world through all forms of art and artistic expression, will be the home for this unique special that recognizes breakdancing as its own compelling form of art.

The Red Bull BC One World Final will have a television premiere on Ovation, February 22 at 12pm ET.
