IGGY AZALEA TO PERFORM AT "2014 mtvU WOODIE AWARDS" ON MARCH 13 AT SXSW IN AUSTIN, TEXAS

Sam Smith, American Authors, London Grammar and Wild Cub Set to Join Incredible Lineup for the Woodie Awards Festival

30-Minute Primetime Woodies Special to Premiere on MTV and mtvU on Sunday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

New York, NY (March 4, 2014) - mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, today announced that 2014 "Best Video Woodie" nominee Iggy Azalea will perform her hit "Fancy" along with special guest Charli XCX, at the "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards" on Thursday, March 13, joining previously announced performers Childish Gambino and The 1975. Additionally, "Breaking Woodie" and "Cover Woodie" nominee Sam Smith, American Authors, London Grammar and Wild Cub are all slated to grace the Woodies stage at the "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Festival," which starts at 3:00 p.m. on March 13 and will lead into the awards portion of the evening. The artists join Bleachers and Vic Mensa as Woodie Awards Festival performers. MTV and mtvU will air the half-hour "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards" special, celebrating award winners and showcasing some of the best performances from the Woodies on Sunday, March 16 at 8:00p.m. ET/PT. Rapper and MTV Artist to Watch Iggy Azalea, who was raised in rural Australia, has been touted as one of the most promising MCs with cosigns not only from King of the South T.I.. but also from rap royalty like Dr. Dre to Snoop Dogg. In 2012, she became the first ever woman to be named to XXL's "Freshman List." Following her Woodie Awards performance, she will release her debut album, "The New Classic" on April 15. The album includes past singles "Work," "Fancy" and "Change Your Life."

21-year old UK singer Sam Smith blazed into 2014 as the first and only male winner of the esteemed BRITs Critic's Choice Award as well as BBC Sound of 2014 prize. His highly anticipated debut, In The Lonely Hour, is due June 2014 (Capitol Records), yet his Nirvana EP has set the tone and propelled him onto countless "Ones to Watch 2014" lists. Set to perform live on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" one day before they hit the "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards" stage, Brooklyn alt rock band American Authors is made up of Zac Barnett (vocals), James Adam Shelley (guitar/banjo), Dave Rublin (bass), and Matt Sanchez (drums). The four first met while attending the Berklee College of Music, though the quartet eventually dropped out to form the band.

The New York Times deemed Wild Cub's debut album Youth "infectious," while Entertainment Weekly recommended lead single "Thunder Clatter" as "clattering joyful noise." A debut TV performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and additional press coverage from Billboard, Alternative Press, Paste, and MAGNET brought increased awareness, and the band's electrifying live show has established Wild Cub as a force.

London Grammar's d�but album If You Wait was released digitally on September 9th and will be released physically on March 25th in the U.S., which includes three bonus tracks. Their current single 'Strong' is burning up at AAA radio and the band begins their US Tour on March 17th in Houston, TX.
