New York, NY (March 11, 2014) - mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, today announced that Shailene Woodley and Theo James, the stars of Summit Entertainment's new action adventure film "Divergent," will screen an exclusive clip from the movie at the "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards," which takes place Thursday March 13 at 8:00 p.m. CT during SXSW at Austin, Texas. The clip will also air during the "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Special," which premieres Sunday, March 16 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, though viewers can check out a special sneak peek of the "Divergent" clip here. The special also features special appearances by Imagine Dragons, Wiz Khalifa, Danny Brown, MGK, Mac Miller, Steve Aoki, Hannibal Buress and the cast of Comedy Central's "Workaholics."

Additionally, mtvU announced that the duo Phantogram and alt-pop quartet and MTV 2014 Artist to Watch Echosmith round out the impressive list of performers for the "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Festival," which also includes Sam Smith, American Authors, London Grammar, Wild Cub, Bleachers and Vic Mensa. Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, who make up Phantogram, are known for creating beautiful, beat-driven dreamlike pop songs. Their most recent album, "Voices," was released on February 18.

The Woodie Awards Festival will also feature MCs Sway of MTV News, as well as "Girl Code" stars Charlamagne and Nessa, who will guide festival goers through the day's performances starting at 3:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 13, 2014, when doors open. The "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards" will take-over the festival beginning at 8:00 p.m. CT with performances from "Did it My Way Woodie" nominee Childish Gambino, "Best Video Woodie" nominee Iggy Azalea with special guest Charli XCX "and "Breaking Woodie" nominee The 1975.

MTV and Cherrytree/ Interscope Recording Artist Ellie Goulding will team up for the worldwide premiere of music video "Beating Heart" from Summit Entertainment's Divergent on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:53 p.m. ET with a LIVE in studio appearance from stars of the movie Shailene Woodley and Theo James.

Directed by Neil Burger from a screenplay by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor, "Divergent" tells the story is set in a world where people are divided into distinct factions based on human virtues. Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy by a faction leader (Kate Winslet) to destroy all Divergents, Tris must learn to trust in the mysterious Four (Theo James) and together they must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too late.

The film, which is based on the best-selling novel Divergent by Veronica Roth, stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ashley Judd, Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Zo? Kravitz, Miles Teller, Tony Goldwyn, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, and Kate Winslet. Summit Entertainment, a LIONSGATE(R) company, will release "Divergent" in theaters and on IMAX(R) screens nationwide on March 21.

In addition to debuting the "Divergent" clip, MTV"s "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards Special" on March 16 will feature Sway, Charlamagne and Ness celebrating the night's winners and showcasing some of the best "2014 mtvU Woodie Awards" performances.
