Season 16 Auditions to Be Held in Los Angeles, Boston, Birmingham, Charlotte, Chicago, Oklahoma City and Salt Lake City

The Biggest Loser Resort Giving Away a One-Week Resort Stay to One Lucky "Contestant Hopeful" in Four of the Cities

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 24, 2014 - NBC's popular reality series "The Biggest Loser" is launching a seven-city cross-country search to find new contestants for the next edition of the hit show. Individuals, families and former athletes who have at least 100 lbs. to lose are encouraged to apply for the new season.

Casting producers are looking for charismatic individuals who have the desire to change their lives forever and vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight and compete for a grand prize of $250,000. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and legal residents of the United States. For those who are unable to attend a casting call, information on how to apply to the show and submit a videotape is available on http://www.nbc.com/casting#bl16 and www.thebiggestlosercasting.com.

The Biggest Loser Resort, Planet Fitness and NBC stations WCNC (Charlotte) and KSL5 (Salt Lake City) will be hosting casting calls in select cities. The Biggest Loser Resort will host the Chicago auditions at their local resort location on Saturday, April 19, and give away a one-week stay at that resort to one lucky person auditioning for the show.

They will also be giving away a one-week resort stay at the Los Angeles auditions on April 5 (for their resort in Malibu), the Boston auditions on April 12 (for their resort in Niagara, N.Y.) and at the Salt Lake City auditions on April 19 (for their resort in Ivins, Utah). In addition, the Resort will be providing one of their trainers to exercise and energize "contestant hopefuls" standing in line in at the Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston and Salt Lake City auditions.

Planet Fitness will be hosting the casting calls in Boston on April 12 and Oklahoma City on April 19. NBC station WCNC will host the Charlotte auditions on April 12 and station KSL5 will the host the Salt Lake City casting call on April 19. Local past season "Biggest Loser" contestants will also be appearing at many of the auditions to cheer people on.

People will not be allowed to line up prior to three hours before the start of the open call. Candidates should bring a non-returnable photo of themselves.

Alison Sweeney is the host of "The Biggest Loser," which challenges and encourages overweight contestants to shed pounds in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000. The series provides the contestants with challenges, temptations, weigh-ins and eliminations until the final contestant remains to claim the title of "the biggest loser." Contestants work out under the supervision of professional trainers Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels and Dolvett Quince.

"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Shine America and 25/7 Productions. Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, Eden Gaha, Joel Relampagos, Alex Katz, JD Roth and Todd A. Nelson are the executive producers.
