WILSHIRE STUDIOS EXPANDS DEVELOPMENT SLATE INKING OVERALL DEALS WITH VETERAN PRODUCERS STEPHANIE BLOCH CHAMBERS AND C. RUSSELL MUTH
Universal City - Calif. April 16, 2014 - Known for producing hundreds of hours of creative and highly entertaining, original non-scripted programming, Wilshire Studios, a division of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, is ramping up its development slate adding two new overall deals to its roster with Stephanie Bloch Chambers ("Chrisley Knows Best," "Married to Jonas") and C. Russell Muth ("DEA," "Bordertown Laredo"). The new deals announced today by Gary Auerbach, Executive Vice President of Development and Programming, Wilshire Studios, represents the studios' strategic direction as it grows its business into new genres of non-scripted programming that can be leveraged within the NBCU Cable portfolio and externally across all media platforms.
Chambers is an accomplished producer known for her work on Bravo's "Toned Up," "It's a Brad Brad World" and three seasons of "Bethenny Ever After." Muth made his mark in reality while working at Al Roker Entertainment producing multiple shows for Discovery Channel and TruTV such as "American Chopper," "American Casino," "Tiger Team," and "America's Toughest Bars." In addition, Muth produced "Coast Guard Alaska" for The Weather Channel and "Big Easy Justice" for Spike.
Wilshire Studios has also expanded its internal development team, hiring reality vet Benny Reuven as Vice President of Development and Programming. Reuven brings experience from both sides of the business - as development executive at OWN and as producer of numerous shows such as "Chef Wanted" for Food Network.
"The world of non-scripted continues to experience a wealth of opportunity and growth. As we expand into new areas and grow our business, it's imperative that we have the right talent in place," said Auerbach. "With Stephanie Bloch Chambers and C. Russell Muth, we have two very strong and talented producers - both of whom deliver a rich slate of fresh and creative concepts. With the addition of Benny Reuven, we have a seasoned executive skilled in developing and producing memorable programming, who can take these concepts to the next level."
