SPIKE TV ORDERS SEASON 2 OF "THRIFT HUNTERS"

New York, NY, July 7, 2014 - Spike TV has ordered a second season of 10 episodes of "Thrift Hunters," the half-hour non-scripted series following the shopping adventures of thrifting gurus Jason T. Smith and Bryan Goodman. The new episodes will air on Sunday nights this fall at 9:30pm ET/PT, following Spike's hit original series, "Auction Hunters" at 9:00pm ET/PT.

"Thrift Hunters" is produced by Pixcom Productions. The new season of "Thrift Hunters" goes into production across the country this summer. The series delivered a robust 1 million viewers in its debut season on Spike and improved the timeslot by 23% in the key demographic of Adults 18-34.

Thrifting isn't just a hobby for the hosts, Jason and Bryan, it's a modern day treasure hunt. They target the biggest and best garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets across the country, holding to their mantra to always "buy low and sell high." When the shopping haul ends, the real drama just begins as they put their strategically-purchased items are put up for auction. With the demands for rare items in constant cycle and new trends evolve by the minute, there are no guaranteed scores anymore. Each time they auction of their goods, they are at the whimsical mercy of unknown buyers.

With a sixth-sense for bargain hunting, Jason and Bryan manage to turn second-hand goods in to first-rate profit.

Jacquelin Bouchard and Sylvie Desrochers of Pixcom Productions serve as Executive Producers with Nicola Merola and Cara Volchoff as Producers. Tom Zappala, Executive Vice President of Programming and Scheduling, Spike TV and Matt Califano, Vice President, Program Scheduling, Spike TV, oversee the series for the network.
