SPECIAL GUEST JAY LENO MENTORS THE COMICS AS THE FINAL FIVE MOVE ONE STEP CLOSER TO BEING THE "LAST COMIC STANDING" ON TUES, JULY 31 (10-11 P.M. ET)

Stakes are High as the Final Five Comics Perform for Judges Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters in the first "Title Round" episode

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 28, 2014 - Jay Leno, one of America's most popular comedians and the longtime former host of "The Tonight Show," will be the final comic mentor of the season as the "Title Round" of "Last Comic Standing" begins Thursday, July 31 (10-11 p.m. ET) on NBC.

Only five comics remain in the competition, and the stakes have never been higher as they move one step closer to winning the coveted title of "Last Comic Standing" and a prize package worth $250,000, including a cash prize, a talent deal and a development deal for a television show.

Host JB Smoove surprises the comics with the news that they'll be taking a flight to a secret destination to meet their last comic mentor of the season. All he reveals is that it is "one of the funniest comedians in the world." After landing in Las Vegas, the comics are delighted when Wanda Sykes introduces them to Jay Leno, a stand-up comedy legend with a storied career who has been making audiences laugh for more than 35 years.

Eager to learn all they can from the man who one comic aptly calls "the hardest working man in stand-up comedy," the final five ask Leno an interesting variety of questions about stand-up comedy. He answers them all, sharing personal stories and great anecdotes about his experience as a comedian while also giving valuable advice to help them further their stand-up careers.

Then it's time for the finalists to perform hilarious, all new sets for judges Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters, who will determine which four are advancing to the next round, and which comic is headed home. The season eight finale will air Thursday, August 14.

Page Hurwitz and Wanda Sykes, producing partners at Push It Productions, are executive producers along with Javier Winnik. "Last Comic Standing" is produced by Universal Television and Push It Productions.
