FAN FAVORITE FUNNY MAN ROD MAN WINS COVETED TITLE OF 'LAST COMIC STANDING' AND PRIZE PACKAGE WORTH $250,000 AT LAST NIGHT'S NBC FINALE

Villa Rica, Georgia Native, Who Has Been a Comic for 19 Years, Also Wins a Talent Deal and Development Deal for a Television Show

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - August 15, 2014 - The "Last Comic Standing" was Villa Rica, Georgia native Rod Man at last night's finale of the NBC summer series, as the popular comic won the coveted title and a prize package worth $250,000, including a talent deal and development deal for a television show. Judges Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters chose Rod Man as the winner of the competition as season eight drew to a close. He has been working as a comic for 19 years.

The season began with the 100 best comics in America, handpicked by producers to audition by invitation only. Rod Man captured the attention of viewers and judges Barr, Wayans and Peters early on in the competition, with his engaging wit, southern charm and gift for finding the funny in everyday life. He and the other two finalists -- Nikki Carr (Bronx, NY) and Lachlan Patterson (Vancouver, B.C.) -- performed in the two-hour finale, as did judges Barr and Peters before the winner was chosen.

Now Rod Man and the other top five finalists, including Carr, Patterson, Joe Machi (State College, PA) and Rocky LaPorte (Chicago, IL), will tour through the fall in a "Last Comic Standing Live" nationwide tour that kicks off September 16 in Tucson. More information on the tour can be found at http://www.nbc.com/last-comic-standing/tour.

Casting has already begun for season nine of "Last Comic Standing," and information can be found at http://www.nbc.com/casting.
