And every year, thousands of fresh-faced young men and women abandon their small town roots in favor of the uncertainty and chaos of urban life. Premiering Wednesday, September 3 at 10/9c, Investigation Discovery's (ID) new series DEAD ON ARRIVAL follows naïve newcomers who quickly learn that the city streets are not only teeming with excitement and opportunity, but also riddled with crime and violence. Caught in the hustle of city living, these innocent young adults are set on a dangerous trajectory the moment they set foot in a new city - they are DEAD ON ARRIVAL -unfortunate victims of their own ambitions and dreams.

Each one hour episode of DEAD ON ARRIVAL features one story interlaced with expert commentary from local authorities, true-crime experts, and psychologists, as well as first-person accounts from friends and families of the victims.

The premiere episode of DEAD ON ARRIVAL premieres on Wednesday, September 3 at 10/9c, and features the tragic murder of young actress Rebecca Schaeffer. Growing up in the quaint, friendly mountain town of Eugene, Oregon, Rebecca is a bubbly sweetheart blessed with a natural beauty. After a few local modeling jobs, Rebecca receives life-changing news; she has been offered the lead role in a new sitcom called "My Sister Sam." The show is a smash, and sweet Rebecca is thrust into the harsh LA limelight, fending off back-stabbing agents, jealous colleagues and borderline obsessive fans. Little does Rebecca know, her journey to the dark side of fame has only just begun. Soon an encounter with the evil, twisted underbelly of Hollywood will plunge her world into darkness and terror.

· Amy Watkins grows up in a conservative family in Topeka, Kansas, and from a young age is beloved for her sweet, caring disposition. When her passion for helping people turns into a career path as a social worker, Amy decides she must move to the place where social work is most needed: New York City. When Amy witnesses a shocking knife fight, her sheltered small town idealism is put to the test. Little does she know, a danger lurks for Amy on the city streets more terrifying than anything she can imagine.
