NICKELODEON GREENLIGHTS THIRD SEASON OF NICK AT NITE ORIGINAL FAMILY COMEDY "INSTANT MOM," STARRING TIA MOWRY-HARDRICT

Season Two Premieres on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) in New Timeslot

LOS ANGELES- Sept. 9, 2014 - Nickelodeon has ordered a 20-episode third season of its hit family comedy Instant Mom for Nick at Nite and NickMom, it was announced today by Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon's President of Content Development and Production. Beginning Oct. 2, season two of Instant Mom will premiere in its new timeslot on Nick at Nite, Thursdays at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The series also airs during the adult-targeted NickMom nighttime comedy block on the Nick Jr. channel.

"Instant Mom has proven to be the perfect breakout series for families to enjoy together on Nick at Nite," said Hicks. "The show appeals to kids and parents alike, and we're excited to continue delivering new, comedic storylines that our talented cast and creative team bring to life."

The multi-camera, scripted half-hour series features Tia Mowry-Hardrict as Stephanie, a former party girl who becomes a full-time stepmom to three kids when she marries the more traditional Charlie (Michael Boatman, Spin City). Stephanie manages to keep it all together using her own unique style, never losing her sense of fun, and with the help of her mother Maggie (Sheryl Lee Ralph, Moesha), she learns what being a mom really means. Rounding out the cast are Charlie's three kids played by Sydney Park (AwesomenessTV), Tylen Jacob Williams and Damarr Calhoun. Instant Mom is executive-produced by Howard Michael Gould, Aaron Kaplan and Regina Hicks.

Tia Mowry-Hardrict has been in the public eye for over 20 years, gaining initial fame starring opposite her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housley in the hit comedy Sister Sister from Paramount Television. After graduating from Pepperdine University, she made appearances in various projects, including starring with her sister once again in The Disney Channel's original movie Twitches in 2005 and again in Twitches Too, two years later. In 2006, Tia landed the role of "Melanie Barnett," medical student turned wife of pro-football player on The Game, which landed her two NAACP Image Award nominations.

For three seasons, Mowry-Hardrict starred with her sister Tamera and executive produced the hit STYLE network series Tia & Tamera, which set a record as the most watched series launch in the network's history. While filming, Mowrty-Hardrict released her debut book Oh Baby!: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another, and released a fitness DVD. With her sister, she developed and launched their first product line entitled need and their first product MILKY! hit Destination Maternity stores nationwide. Mowry-Hardrict also recently appeared in the Fox Searchlight Pictures film Baggage Claim and is currently working on a joint project with her sister called "Twintuition," a series of middle grade books published by HarperCollins Children's Books (due out April 21, 2015).

Nick at Nite is Nickelodeon's nighttime programming block that features popular hit family comedies, including the Emmy Award-winning series Friends, as well as Full House, George Lopez, Yes, Dear, New Adventures of Old Christine and hit originals like See Dad Run, starring Scott Baio and Instant Mom, starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict.

NickMom is a nighttime comedy block (10 p.m. - 2 a.m. ET/PT) for moms that airs on the Nick Jr. channel. The block features a mix of original long and short-form programming including talk shows, stand-up and sketch comedy, docu-series and more.
