SYFY'S "GHOST HUNTERS" CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY AND THE RETURN OF GRANT WILSON FOR MILESTONE 200TH EPISODE

NEW EPISODES BEGIN WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8 AT 9PM ET/PT

NEW YORK - October 6, 2014 - Syfy's longest-running unscripted series, Ghost Hunters, returns with four all-new episodes beginning Wednesday, October 8 at 9PM ET/PT. During Syfy's annual 31 Days of Halloween programming bonanza this month, Ghost Hunters celebrates two milestones: its 10th anniversary on air and its 200th episode, which features the one night only return of beloved investigator Grant Wilson!

A decade after first appearing on Syfy, Jason Hawes and the TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) team continue to travel to the country's most haunted and chilling locations, investigating reports of paranormal activity at the request of clients in need of the team's expertise.

In the all-new episodes airing this month, Ghost Hunters travels up the east coast and into the Midwest looking to capture eerie evidence of paranormal activity and alleviate the fears of communities in:

"AN OFFICER AND AN APPARITION"

Wednesday, October 8 at 9 PM ET/ PT

TAPS visits Brunswick Old City Hall in Brunswick, Georgia to investigate potential paranormal activity that could be traced back to the fatal shooting of a police officer in the 1890s. The team calls in reinforcements for this investigation: special guest Bruce Tango, a retired policeman and investigator Dave Tango's father. Later in the episode, the team heads to a former worsted mill, which once employed children as young as five years old. Due to frightening activity experienced by current employees and the fear of drawing unwanted attention to the factory, the client insists the location be kept a secret.

"A TEXTBOOK CASE"

Wednesday, October 15 at 9 PM ET/ PT

TAPS is called to the abandoned Elizabeth V. Edwards Elementary School in Barnegat, NJ, named after a beloved teacher who passed away in 1965 and whose apparition is rumored to be luring children inside. Next, the team travels to Clay County, FL to find out if the Old Clay County Courthouse & Jail continues to torture the souls of former prisoners. Concerned for the safety of government officials working in the area, the client is desperate for TAPS to explain the unexplainable.

"200TH EPISODE: GRANT IS BACK"

Wednesday, October 22 at 9 PM ET/ PT

In this special, two-hour edition of Ghost Hunters, the series celebrates its 200th episode by revisiting one of TAPS' favorite and most haunted locations, the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV. The Asylum is widely considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the US thanks to its history as a Civil War barracks, lunatic asylum and mental hospital. The client believes that recent preservation efforts have stirred up the spirits anew and is asking TAPS to evaluate the new hauntings. With such an enormous location and so much reported activity on their hands, Jason Hawes calls in former Ghost Hunters stars Grant Wilson, Joe Chin and Dustin Pari to help reach the former patients who suffered tragically here.

"PHANTOMS OF THE OPERA"

Wednesday, October 29 at 9 PM ET/ PT

In this special Halloween episode, TAPS travels to Ohio to investigate the Cincinnati Music Hall, a building where the hauntings are as frequent as the performances. What lies beneath this historic structure - the foundations of a former orphanage and a Potter's field - could help the team uncover the basis for paranormal activity. With activity said to spike at 3AM, the TAPS team is on high alert to see if they can capture evidence that shores up the claims of those who've experienced hauntings at the Hall.

Ghost Hunters is produced for Syfy by Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Studios (Fast N' Loud, Street Outlaws, The Ultimate Fighter). Piligian, Mike Nichols, Thomas Thayer and Alan David serve as executive producers.

31 Days of Halloween's blood-curdling programming includes the debut of the comedic docuseries Town of the Living Dead (October 7), the Original Movies Dead Still (October 6) and Finders Keepers (October 18) as well as the new original series Z Nation, which continues its first season Fridays at 10PM.
