ROBIN THEDE TAPPED AS HEAD WRITER OF "THE MINORITY REPORT WITH LARRY WILMORE"

NEW YORK, October 15, 2014 - Robin Thede has been named Head Writer of Comedy Central's next great late-night franchise "The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore," it was announced today by Wilmore, Executive Producer, Writer and Host of "The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore." Most recently, Thede was Head Writer on "The Queen Latifah Show" and wrote for Chris Rock for the 2014 BET Awards. Previously, she was a writer for the first two seasons of BET's "Real Husbands of Hollywood." Premiering in January 2015, "The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore" will take a comedic look at news, current events and pop culture from unique perspectives not typically on display in late-night television.

An accomplished writer, actress, sketch and improvisational comedian (Second City, Improv Olympic), Robin Thede (@robinthede) has written for multiple series including "The Queen Latifah Show" and "Real Husbands of Hollywood," as well as numerous award shows including the BET Awards and the NAACP Image Awards. Thede has also worked on several series as both a writer and performer including FOX's sketch comedy TV series "In The Flow With Affion Crockett" (executive produced by Jamie Foxx), Mike Epps' sketch comedy series "Funny Bidness," and the TV comedy series "Clunkers." Her on-screen television credits include roles on "Second Generation Wayans" (BET), "Goodwin Games" (FOX), "Hot In Cleveland" (TV Land), "All of Us" (UPN) and Comedy Central's "Key & Peele." In 2013, Thede also appeared in the Marlon Wayans feature comedy "A Haunted House."

Additionally, Thede has created several hugely successful digital videos, including "Funny Or Die Exclusives" "Every Little Step" with Wayne Brady, Bobby Brown and Mike Tyson and "For (Stuffed) Colored Girls," as well as "Shit Black Guys Say."

Continuing in Comedy Central's tradition of producing groundbreaking late night formats, "The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore" will provide viewers with a distinct point of view and comedic take on the day's news from a perspective largely missing in the current late-night landscape. Hosted by Larry Wilmore, the series will feature a diverse panel of voices currently underrepresented in comedy and television. More details will be revealed at a later date.

Thede is repped by CAA.

"The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore" was created by Jon Stewart and will be produced by Stewart's Busboy Productions with Stewart, Wilmore and Rory Albanese serving as Executive Producers. The series' Head Writer is Robin Thede.
