MAGELLAN, THE (The CW, New!) - Jennifer Johnson ("The Following") is developing a new drama "that revolves around what happens when a mysterious global cataclysm strands a group of students, teachers and crew on a Semester at Sea sailboat." The Warner Bros. Television-based project is inspired by the Globomedia and Antena3 drama "El Barco," created by Alex Pina, Ivan Escobar and Daniel Ecija, with the latter attached to executive produce alongside Laura Fernandez Espeso, Ombra's Jaume Collet-Serra and Juan Sola as well as Management 360's Guymon Casady. UNTITLED COLLEEN MCGUINNESS PROJECT (FOX, New!) - "30 Rock" alum Colleen McGuinness has sold a single-camera comedy to the network about "a 25-year-old woman who works at a frozen yogurt shop and whose life is going nowhere - until she discovers she is telekinetic." Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Todd of Pearl Street Films will also executive produce the Universal Television-based project, which has a penalty attached. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - MTV has picked up "Scream" to series with a 10-episode order, due in October 2015 (@MTV); Meagen Fay is bound for four episodes of "Marvel's Agent Carter" as "the woman who runs the boarding house where Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell) lives in NYC" (Deadline.com); Max Gail has joined the cast of Comedy Central's "Review with Forrest MacNeil" as "his undistingushed father Roger MacNeil, a timid man who is not the brightest of bulbs, but admires his son's courage and determination" (Deadline.com); "Dads" alum Brenda Song has inked a talent holding deal with FOX and 20th Century Fox Television (Deadline.com); The Jackal Group is developing Grady Hendrix's supernatural mystery novel "Horrorstör" as a TV series (Deadline.com); Lorraine Toussaint's Vee won't be returning for the new season of "Orange Is the New Black" (EW.com); and Brian Doyle-Murray will visit "Sirens" as "a priest from Johnny's childhood who lends an ear during a time of emotional turmoil" (TVGuide.com).
