BILLIONS (Showtime; W: Andrew Ross Sorkin, Brian Koppelman & David Levien; D: Neil Burger) - Condola Rashad is the latest cast in the drama pilot, which takes a forensic look at the world of high finance by tracking the approaching collision between two titanic figures - the hard charging, whip-smart U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhodes (Paul Giamatti), and the brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king, Bobby "Axe" Axelrod (Damian Lewis). She'll play Kate, "a smart, ambitious young professional who is working at the U.S. Attorney's Office." David Costabile and Maggie Siff also star. (Deadline.com)


CARNIVAL ROW (Amazon, New!) - Guillermo del Toro is looking to bring his proposed feature "A Killing on Carnival Row," "set in a noir, Victorian-tinged city where humans, fairies and other creatures co-exist," to the small screen. Travis Beacham and Rene Echevarria are on board to help co-wrote the TV incarnation alongside del Toro, who will likewise direct. Legendary Television is behind the hour, with Gary Ungar also among the executive producers. (THR.com)


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Debmar-Mercury and FremantleMedia North America have cleared their syndicated game show "Celebrity Name Game" for a second season (Deadline.com); Emmanuelle Chriqui is the latest series regular bound for TNT's "Murder in the First" as "the brash, daring and a total bad-ass Lara Cruz who doesn't just take to the job as a member of the SFPD Gang Task Force, she is the job" (Deadline.com); plans for Craig Ferguson's syndicated half-hour talk show for Tribune Media have reportedly "unraveled" (Deadline.com);

Allen Hughes has signed on as director and executive producer for Mark Wolper and Marc Toberoff's "Roots" remake for A+E Studios and History, with Mark Rosenthal and Larry Konner set to pen the scripts (Deadline.com); Edward James Olmos has snagged a role on "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" as Robert Gonzales, "whose debut this spring will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team" (Marvel.com); and "Elementary" executive producer Jason Tracey has signed a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios (THR.com).
