"AARP's Annual Movies for Grownups Awards is all about celebrating movies and stars with universal appeal," said Stan E. Hubbard, CEO of REELZ. "REELZ is proud that an independent network is able to bring this event to television for the first time, connecting viewers across the country with the excitement of Hollywood wherever it happens--especially just ahead of Oscar(R) night, the biggest movie celebration day of the year."

"With so many innovative and quality movies and performances each year, the Movies for Grownups Awards are deeply appreciated by the creative community," said Sam Rubin, producer and red carpet host of the 14th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards Gala. "REELZ is a go-to destination on the dial for signature television events and we're thrilled that for the first time viewers across the country will be able to share in the excitement of this one-of-a-kind, star-studded celebration."

In an industry obsessed with youth, AARP's Movies for Grownups column was developed in 2002 by the editors of AARP The Magazine who deliberately sought to draw attention to great films that featured actors, directors or plot themes that spoke to moviegoers over 50 years old. The annual Awards winners are published in the February/March issue of AARP The Magazine and are celebrated at AARP's annual Movies for Grownups Awards gala each February in Los Angeles.

AARP's 14th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards gala raised over $100,000 for the AARP Foundation, AARP's affiliated charity, which works in communities across the nation to help struggling older adults meet their basic need for nutritious food, safe and affordable housing, adequate income and much-needed personal connections.
