UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 1, 2015 - NBC Entertainment is expanding its acclaimed "Saturday Night Live" mobile video app as the popular comedy institution heads toward the finale of its landmark 40th season.

Showcasing four decades of comedy performances, the SNL app will be updated to expand its library with hundreds of classic sketches that have never been previously available online. In response to fan requests, the ever-growing library will now include segments featuring iconic characters such as the Gap Girls (Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Farley), the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer (Phil Hartman) and more. The update also includes an enhanced emoji keyboard with 15 new emojis, remastered library sketches with improved picture quality and additional full episodes from the current season.

The app first became available for iPhone (R) in February, and in the short time since has streamed over 100 million videos. Now the app will extend for the first time to the iPad (R) and Android-powered devices. In addition, the updated app will be compatible with AirPlay, allowing users to enjoy and explore sketches on their Apple TV (R).

Mashable.com recently reviewed the app and stated, "You won't be able to put down SNL40, the new 40th anniversary app from Saturday Night Live. It's a rabbit hole of humor, which is nirvana for SNL fans of all stripes and generations."

The SNL app for iPhone and iPad is available for free on the App Store? and on Google PlayTM (http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/app).
