Disney Junior Debuts "Miles from Tomorrowland" Interactive Appisode for the Disney Junior Appisodes App
In "Miles from Tomorrowland: Runaway Shuttle" kids join Miles Callisto and his robo-ostrich best friend, Merc, on a space-tastic rescue mission.

DISNEY JUNIOR DEBUTS "MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND" INTERACTIVE APPISODE IN THE NEWLY REDESIGNED DISNEY JUNIOR APPISODES APP FOR iPAD, iPHONE AND iPOD TOUCH

"Miles from Tomorrowland: Runaway Shuttle," the first interactive appisode for the popular Disney Junior intergalactic adventure series, is now live in the newly redesigned Disney Junior Appisodes app.

In "Miles from Tomorrowland: Runaway Shuttle" kids join Miles Callisto and his robo-ostrich best friend, Merc, on a space-tastic rescue mission. The adventure begins with an urgent distress call from Lucky's runaway ice cream shuttle. It's up to the Callistos to save Lucky before he crashes into the volcanic moon Io. Kids get to interact with the episode as they:

· Pilot the StarJetter and navigate through space junk on their way to Io!

· Target the restart lever to bring the shuttle back online!

· Practice space welding and boost their top speed!

· Set new speed records racing with Merc

The hugely popular Disney Junior Appisodes app has also been re-imagined to include a bold new easy-to-navigate interface that makes it easier for kids to find their favorite episodes and enhanced parental controls that help adults manage their kids experiences.

Developed by Disney|ABC Television Group's Digital Media team, the Disney Junior Appisodes app offers true interactive viewing, allowing fans 2-7 to touch, tap, swipe, tilt, shake and talk their way through various fun-filled activities embedded into full episodes of some of their favorite Disney Junior shows.

The Disney Junior Appisodes app launched in 2012 as the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally Appisode," introducing an innovative new way for kids to enjoy their favorite shows. Well received by both fans and the industry, the app topped iTunes charts for weeks - making it to #1 on the Overall Free list - and won the 2012 Mobile Excellence Award for Best Content Extension Made for Mobile, as well as the iKids award for Best Web/App Series.

Over the past several years, the Disney|ABC Television Group has consistently launched innovative apps for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Most notably, WATCH ABC, WATCH Disney Channel, WATCH Disney Junior and WATCH Disney XD, all of which enable authenticated customers to access live streaming of linear channel feeds, as well as on demand episodes of popular shows. Additionally, the group has successfully launched several chart-topping apps within the last year, including the "Doc McStuffins Time for Your Check Up" app, which lets kids use their device to help diagnose and treat Doc's toys, and the "Jake's Never Land Pirate School" app, which allows kids to become completely immersed in Never Land, completing pirate-themed challenges.
