TV ONE'S "NEWS ONE NOW" TO BROADCAST PRESIDENT'S EULOGY AT REV. CLEMENTA PINCKNEY'S FUNERAL, FRIDAY, JUNE 26

Host and Managing Editor Roland S. Martin to Anchor Coverage; Companion Website NEWSONE.COM to Live Stream Funeral in Its Entirety

WASHINGTON, D.C. - JUNE 25, 2015 - TV One's News One Now, the first morning news program in history to focus on news and analysis of politics, entertainment, sports, and culture from an explicitly African American perspective, continues to devote the entirety of its daily live hour broadcast to the Charleston Emanuel A.M.E. Church Massacre, including breaking into regularly scheduled programming to cover President Barack Obama's eulogy at the funeral services of Rev. Clementa Pinckney on Friday, June 26. In addition to its 9-10 a.m. ET time slot, News One Now will also live stream the entire funeral on its companion website, NewsOne.com.

"All too often, News One Now has had the sad responsibility of addressing racially motivated acts of violence against the Black community," commented Roland S. Martin, News One Now's host and managing editor. "And, since the terrible news of the Charleston Emanuel A.M.E. Church massacre was announced, News One Now has devoted the entirety of its live daily hour to discussion surrounding the tragedy and subsequent debate about the confederate flag. We feel strongly as a network and as a news program to honor the spirit of Rev. Clementa Pinckney and all those touched by this horrific event with this extended coverage."

Throughout the week, Martin has kept the topic of racially motivated acts of violence at the forefront of the national dialogue with his ongoing commentary and call for the removal of Confederate flag from the grounds of South Carolina's statehouse grounds. This conversation will continue during tomorrow's News One Now broadcast, and Martin will also address current and breaking news, including the Supreme Court's Obamacare decision, with analysis and commentary by notable newsmakers, lawmakers and journalists.

Tomorrow morning's panel guests include: Wilmer Leon, political scientist and syndicated columnist, SiriusXM Radio host; Monique Pressley, legal analyst and principal at The Pressley Firm PLLC; and Lauren Victoria Burke, managing editor at Politic365.com.
