(Pasadena, CA - Jan. 6, 2016) Exactly 15 years ago this week, on January 7, 2001, National Geographic Channel (NGC) officially launched in the United States, bringing a legacy of breakthroughs and innovations, heart pounding adventures, bold conquests and extraordinary human feats to cable television. While the network continues to blaze an exciting path forward, it will also honor its extraordinary legacy with a yearlong 15th Anniversary celebration lasting throughout 2016.
When you are part of a brand with the legacy of National Geographic, celebrating great programming is not difficult to do. Beginning January 31, 2016 and lasting all year, "15 Years of National Geographic Channel" anniversary programming will be highlighted through NGC's social media, video on demand and TV Everywhere platforms including NatGeoTV.com as well as on iOS handsets and tablets, Android handsets, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Samsung Connected TVs.
