ALTERED CARBON (Netflix, New!) - Laeta Kalogridis (Terminator Genisys) has scored a 10-episode order from the streaming service for a small screen take on Richard Morgan's 2002 novel of the same name. The project, from Skydance Television, is "set in the 25th century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul itself is transferable from one body to the next. Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite interstellar warrior known as an Envoy who has been imprisoned for 500 years, is downloaded into a future he'd tried to stop. If he can solve a single murder in a world where technology has made death nearly obsolete, he'll get a chance at a new life on Earth." Russel Friend, Garrett Lerner, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross will executive produce alongside Kalogridis and her Mythology Entertainment partners Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt. Mike Medavoy and Arnie Messer are producing. (Deadline.com)

CRUSHED (Hulu, New!) - Tina Gordon Chism's comedy, about an African-American family who stumbles into a successful wine business in Napa, has found a new home at the streaming service where it has landed a pilot order. Regina Hall will star as Celia in the project, which was originally set up at HBO in 2013. Lionsgate Television and Homegrown Pictures are co-producing. Stephanie Allain also executive produces with C. Deneen Brown as a co-producer. (Deadline.com)
