ESPN's Pro Bowl Halftime to Feature Interviews with Super Bowl 50 Quarterbacks Cam Newton and Peyton Manning
ESPN's coverage of the 2016 Pro Bowl Presented by USAA on Sunday, January 31 (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) will include halftime interviews with both Super Bowl 50 quarterbacks, Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos.
ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown host Chris Berman, who will be in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl, will interview Manning, while NFL Live host Trey Wingo will interview Newton from ESPN's Bristol, Conn., studios. Interviews with both players will be taped in advance from the respective team facilities before the Broncos and Panthers depart for the Bay Area on Sunday.
During ESPN's Pro Bowl telecasts in 2010 and 2015, Berman conducted similar interviews with the Super Bowl quarterbacks.
ESPN's Monday Night Football team of Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden and reporter Lisa Salters will call the Pro Bowl game from Aloha Stadium. The telecast will also be available via WatchESPN, and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes (commentators: Alvaro Martin, Raul Allegre and reporter John Sutcliffe). A special two-hour edition of Postseason NFL Countdown (5 p.m., ESPN) leads into the game with hosts Berman and Suzy Kolber and analysts Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson and Keyshawn Johnson.
