-The Three-Part Story of a Notorious American Serial Killer Debuts as a Special One-Night Television Event Saturday, February 20 from 8-11pm ET-
(Silver Spring, Md.) - Today, Investigation Discovery announced the third and final installment of its breakout scripted mini-series SERIAL THRILLER. Based on a true story, THE HEAD HUNTER transports viewers to a beautiful California seaside city devastated by a series of missing college students and hitchhikers. As the hills and ocean wash up human remains, detectives are thrown into the media spotlight desperately following leads in a frantic bid to restore peace in the murder capitol. SERIAL THRILLER: THE HEAD HUNTER debuts as a special one-night television event on Saturday, February 20 from 8-11pm ET only on Investigation Discovery.
Each installment of the SERIAL THRILLER trilogy propels viewers into a chilling true crime story of a real-life serial killer. The murderer's identity is a mystery at first, leaving viewers to unravel the clues from episode to episode, with each character's vivid storyline serving as a reminder that behind every crime are real people and lives devastatingly transformed. The eerie outcome may have been ripped from the headlines, but SERIAL THRILLER reveals the whole narrative by weaving together the factual accounts from those closest to the case. Previous installments of the SERIAL THRILLER trilogy have profiled notorious serial killers Ted Bundy and Stephen Peter Morin.
"With our first two installments of SERIAL THRILLER averaging more than 1.2 million viewers, it's exciting to see that these true-crime stories have resonated with ID's current audience and also brought in new viewers who enjoy multi-part scripted television," said Kevin Bennett, general manager of Investigation Discovery and American Heroes Channel. "This final mini-series is truly a binge-worthy experience to close out this thrilling trilogy."
