SCOOTER BRAUN TO SERVE AS CREATIVE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
OF THE 2016 RADIO DISNEY MUSIC AWARDS
Industry-leading talent manager Scooter Braun has signed on as the Creative Executive Producer for the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA), music's biggest event for families, it was announced today by Phil Guerini, vice president, Music Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide and general manager, Radio Disney Networks. The RDMA event is set for SATURDAY, APRIL 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Now in its fourth year, the RDMA will feature even more performances, combining music's biggest with tomorrow's rising stars. The special two-hour telecast, "Disney Channel Presents the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards," will be presented SUNDAY, MAY 1 (7:00-9:00 p.m. EDT) on Disney Channel in the U.S. and thereafter, in 159 countries. Highlights will also be available on Radio Disney, the Radio Disney App, the Disney Channel app and RadioDisney.com.
Braun is the founder of SB Projects, a company at the intersection of music, film, television, technology, brands, culture and social good. He has discovered some of the most acclaimed music acts of the decade.
"As a new dad, I'm excited to continue a longstanding relationship with Radio Disney and creative executive-produce this year's RDMA," said Braun. "Having been a recipient of the Heroes for Change Award and after several artist performances, I've seen the show grow over the last four years and look forward to joining forces in a new way to take 'Music's Biggest Event for Families' to the next level."
Today, Braun has a roster of chart toppers under his management, record label and publishing companies that includes Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen and more. Braun has also served as an executive producer on the feature film "The Giver" and the hit drama series "Scorpion" currently in its second season.
"Over the years, Scooter, SB Projects and its artists have been extremely supportive of Radio Disney," Guerini said. "Scooter's had a tremendous impact on pop culture and is a visionary in the world of music. We look forward to collaborating with him on this year's show."
