Special Will Feature NFL Legend Emmitt Smith and Wife Pat Smith
Los Angeles - OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will premiere "Mrs. & Mr. Smith" on Saturday, March 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT immediately following "For Peete's Sake" in the network's popular Saturday night lineup. The one-hour special will follow the lives of NFL legend Emmitt Smith and wife Pat Smith and is produced by Pilgrim Media Group.
Pat Smith, wife of NFL legend Emmitt Smith, has been the rock to her family for 15 years. Being married to NFL legend Emmitt Smith comes with countless commitments, demands and excitement. Pat has been keeping up with their fast-paced life as a dedicated wife and mother. It may be challenging to maintain their traditional family roles at times, but the couple must embrace and adjust to change. While Emmitt loves his wife and what she does for their family, he doesn't always recognize that she sometimes feels second best.
Pat's ready for a new challenge and to kick her life into a higher gear. With their five kids up and off to school each day, Pat finds herself ready to step out of Emmitt's shadow. Now it's time for her step away from the sidelines and pursue her own passions and career. But will traditional Emmitt follow his wife as she pursues her dreams?
Pat Smith was the first African-American woman to win the Miss Virginia USA title and first runner-up of the 1994 Miss USA Pageant. She has dedicated her career to raising awareness about issues affecting women and children and currently serves as the CEO of Pat Smith Enterprises. She is also Founder and CEO of Treasure You(TM) and Co-Founder of Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities.
Emmitt Smith is a professional football icon after playing 15 years in the National Football League, amassing many records that still stand today. His impressive resume includes three Super Bowl champion rings and his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His post-career television success includes winning the third season of ABC's popular primetime reality show "Dancing with the Stars" and returning to the ballroom in 2012 for "Dancing with the Stars All-Stars."
