SYFY PREMIERES BOY BAND ZOMBIE WESTERN MASHUP ORIGINAL MOVIE "DEAD 7" ON APRIL 1*

(*seriously)

NEW YORK - March 23, 2016 - No fooling, Syfy's latest genre-bending original movie, DEAD 7 - a boy band zombie Western - will premiere on Friday, April 1 at 8PM ET/PT.

That's right, everybody throw your hands up in the air because the post-apocalyptic, zombie Western mashup flick - from the makers of SHARKNADO - stars members of beloved, world famous boy bands Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, 98 Degrees and O-Town!

DEAD 7 tells the story of a ragtag band of gunslingers who team up to rid a small town of a zombie plague in the post-apocalyptic West. The two-hour movie is headlined by Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter (last season's "Dancing with the Stars" runner-up), playing Jack, the reluctant hero who unites the town's outlaws in a showdown against the zombie menace.

Also starring in DEAD 7 are Carter's wife, actress Lauren Kitt-Carter, Backstreet Boys AJ McLean and Howie Dorough; *NSYNC's Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick; 98 Degrees' Jeff Timmons; O-Town's Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller; Carrie Keagan ("Reno 911!"); Debra Wilson ("MadTV"); Frenchie Davis (Season 2 "American Idol," and "The Voice" Season 1 semifinalist); Gerardo Mejía (of "Rico Suave" fame); Everclear's Art Alexakis and Grammy winner Jon Secada.

DEAD 7 is a co-production between Carter and The Asylum (SHARKNADO, Z NATION). Producers for The Asylum are Paul Bales, David Michael Latt and David Rimawi. The DEAD 7 story is by Carter, with a screenplay by Sawyer Perry.

DEAD 7 leads into the premiere of Syfy's new 13-episode supernatural action drama, WYNONNA EARP, airing at 10PM ET/PT and starring Melanie Scrofano as the titular gun-slinging heroine.
