RISING (Freeform, New!) - Selena Gomez is developing a new drama at the cable channel "set in a low income Latino neighborhood and is told through the eyes of an 18-year-old girl destined for greatness." The project, from Universal Cable Productions, is currently searching for a writer. Mandy Teefey and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan also serve as executive producers with Los Angeles high school senior Ana Cobarrubias serving as a consultant. (Deadline.com)

WHEN THE STREET LIGHTS GO ON (Hulu/Paramount; W: Chris Hutton & Eddie O'Keefe; D: Brett Morgen) - Cory Hardrict (American Sniper) is the latest to score a role on the drama pilot, a coming-of-age thriller about a sleepy, suburban town that is rocked by the brutal murder of a high school girl and her teacher in the summer of 1983. He'll play Officer Teddy Green, "the police chief's second in command - a competent detective who underestimated the small-town job. However, he's sharp enough to spot something on a surveillance video that turns out to be a vital clue." (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - William Sadler will recur on Epix's "Berlin Station" as Clay Williams, "an edgy, authoritative, lifetime military man and Director of the Counter Terrorism Center who arrives at Berlin Station with a mission to help solve a difficult situation" (Deadline.com); Duane Henry will drop by the last two episodes of "NCIS" this season as Clayton Reeves, a potential series regular going forward (Deadline.com); Katey Sagal has been tapped to play Vivian Pressman in ABC's upcoming remake of "Dirty Dancing" (Deadline.com);
