ABOUT "WAYWARD PINES" SEASON ONE:

Based on the best-selling novel "Pines" by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan ("The Sixth Sense," "Signs"), Season One of WAYWARD PINES ranked as Summer 2015's No. 1 broadcast scripted series among Adults 18-49.

In the 10 episode event series, Secret Service Agent ETHAN BURKE (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, "Crash," "City of Ghosts") drives to the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, searching for two missing federal agents including KATE HEWSON (Carla Gugino, "Watchmen," "Entourage"). Everything changes when a truck slams into his car... and he wakes up in the Wayward Pines Hospital, with the intense and unpredictable NURSE PAM (Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Melissa Leo, "The Fighter," "Treme") at his bedside. It soon appears that Pam is more interested in harming than healing. She and Ethan grow into deadly rivals, and her role in the town proves much deeper than anyone realizes. As the mysteries within the town pile up, Ethan starts to question his own sanity. He is confronted by the mysterious and charismatic DR. JENKINS (Emmy Award nominee Toby Jones, "The Girl," the "Harry Potter" franchise), the psychiatrist who treats him at Wayward Pines Hospital. As he begins to meet some of the local residents , Ethan forms a bond with BEVERLY (Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Juliette Lewis, "Hysterical Blindness," "Cape Fear"), a bartender who is as wary of Wayward Pines as he is. Meanwhile, Ethan is challenged at every turn by the town's die-hard residents, especially SHERIFF ARNOLD POPE (Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard, "Crash," "Hustle & Flow"), who takes offense at a Secret Service agent showing up on his turf. Ethan's continuing investigation only turns up more and more questions, and each one leads him to the most important question of all: What's wrong with Wayward Pines?

ABOUT "WAYWARD PINES" SEASON TWO:

Starring Jason Patric ("Rush," "Narc"), two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou ("Blood Diamond," "In America") and Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Hope Davis ("American Crime," "The Newsroom"), the 10-episode, second season will pick up after the shocking events of Season One, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Dr. THEO YEDLIN (Patric) - a new resident of Wayward Pines - awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race. Hounsou will portray CJ MITCHUM, an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, and the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited. Davis returns as MEGAN FISHER, who is in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the Abbies, and remains deeply involved in the development of the hearts and minds of the future of humanity - Wayward Pines' "First Generation." Also joining the second season are cast members Tom Stevens ("Cedar Cove"), returning from Season One as JASON HIGGINS, a member of the First Generation and Pilcher's young acolyte; Nimrat Kaur ("Homeland") as REBECCA, who has her own secrets she keeps from Theo, her husband; Josh Helman ("Mad Max: Fury Road," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") as XANDER, a resident working to undermine Wayward Pines from within; and Kacey Rohl ("Hannibal") as KERRY, one of Jason's lieutenants in the civil war going on in Wayward Pines. Additionally, several Season One cast members will appear in Season Two, including Terrence Howard (SHERIFF ARNOLD POPE), Carla Gugino (KATE HEWSON), Toby Jones (DR. JENKINS/DAVID PILCHER), Melissa Leo (NURSE PAM), Tim Griffin (ADAM HASSLER), Shannyn Sossamon (THERESA BURKE) and Charlie Tahan (BEN BURKE).

WAYWARD PINES is a production of 20th Century Fox Television. The series is executive-produced by Donald De Line ("Green Lantern," "The Italian Job"), Ashwin Rajan ("Devil," "The Visit"), Blake Crouch and M. Night Shyamalan. Mark Friedman ("Believe," "The Forgotten") also serves as executive producer and showrunner.
