NBC NAMES LISA KATZ AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF DRAMA DEVELOPMENT

Accomplished Creative Exec Arrives from 20th Century Fox TV

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 16, 2016 - Accomplished creative executive Lisa Katz will join NBC in the role of Executive Vice President, Drama Development. Katz, who most recently served as Senior Vice President, Drama Development at 20thCentury Fox TV, will start at the network on July 11 and reports to Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.

Lisa Katz has spent the last 12 years of her career in development at 20thCentury Fox TV, where she has cumulatively overseen more than 40 pilots, 28 of which have gone to series. She developed Lee Daniels' and Danny Strong's "Empire" for Fox (with Imagine TV), which ultimately became one of broadcast television's biggest hits, she most recently developed "Star" (Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy), "APB" (Len Wiseman and Matt Nix) and "Pitch" (Dan Fogelman) for Fox, as well as Fogelman's "This Is Us" for NBC, which has generated a tremendous amount of early buzz with a record-breaking 71 million trailer-views across social media.

In Katz's first year at 20th, she developed the long-running international hit "Bones," which returns for a record-breaking 12th season this fall. Prior to her time at 20th, Katz started her career at Brillstein-Grey where she worked for seven years on both comedy and drama series including HBO's iconic hit "The Sopranos," "Just Shoot Me," and "The Steve Harvey Show."

In addition to overseeing the drama development pipeline, Katz will be working on the initial order of NBC's newly announced crop of drama pilot pick-ups, which include highly-anticipated fall shows "This Is Us" (which came from 20th) and "Timeless," as well as midseason dramas "Chicago Justice," "Midnight, Texas," "Taken" and "The Blacklist: Redemption."

Katz is stepping into the role after Pearlena Igbokwe's recent promotion to President, Universal Television Studios.
