Randy Moss Joins ESPN

Six-Time Pro Bowler Will Appear on Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown

Randy Moss, a six-time Pro Bowler and one of the most transcendent wide receivers in NFL history, is joining ESPN. He will serve as an analyst on Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown from the site of each week's Monday Night Football game. He will also contribute to ESPN's annual Super Bowl week coverage.

Moss played 14 NFL seasons until his retirement in 2012, redefining the wide receiver position throughout his brilliant career. He played for the Minnesota Vikings (1998-2004, 2010), as well as the Oakland Raiders (2005-06), New England Patriots (2007-10), Tennessee Titans (2010) and San Francisco 49ers (2012), amassing 15,292 career yards and 982 receptions, including 156 for touchdowns.

Moss earned Pro Bowl honors six times (1998-2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007) and was a First-Team All-Pro on four occasions. He was the NFL's receiving touchdown leader five times, including 2007 when he set the NFL single-season record with 23. That year, he also caught 98 passes for 1,493 yards, helping lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl XLII and a perfect 16-0 regular-season record.

The No. 21 overall pick by the Vikings in the 1998 NFL Draft, Moss made an immediate impact on the league with 69 catches for 1,313 yards and a league-leading (and NFL rookie record) 17 touchdowns his first season, averaging 35.6 yards per touchdown. The 1998 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Moss earned an invite to the Pro Bowl and was the lone rookie first-team All-Pro as the Vikings went 15-1 and produced one of the most dominant offenses in league history.

A member of the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s, Moss was named one of the 50 Greatest Vikings when the franchise celebrated its 50th season in 2010.

"As a player and now as an analyst, Randy has always been candid, direct and compelling; when he talks about football and other topics, you are instantly drawn to what he has to say," said Seth Markman, senior coordinating producer for ESPN's NFL studio shows. "With Matthew Hasselbeck, Charles Woodson and now Randy joining ESPN this offseason, we have added three dynamic, new voices to our studio team, all of whom are widely known and respected among football fans."

Moss added: "ESPN is the No. 1 sports channel in the world! Now I'm a part of a network I grew up running home to watch. The team that has been put together has so much football knowledge to share and I can't wait to get started. I feel very blessed and excited for this opportunity. It's going be a great and fun year."

For the past three years, Moss worked as a NFL analyst for FOX Sports on the Sunday morning FOX NFL Kickoff pregame show, among other programs.
