UNIVERSAL CITY, CA - December 19, 2016-- USA Network today announced a second season pick-up for SHOOTER. A co-production with Paramount Television and Universal Cable Productions, SHOOTER comes from executive producers Mark Wahlberg ("Ballers," "Boardwalk Empire") of Closest to the Hole Productions, Stephen Levinson ("Ballers," "Boardwalk Empire") of Leverage Entertainment, Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers," "The Real O'Neals"), and executive producer/showrunner John Hlavin ("The Shield"). Starring Ryan Phillippe ("Secrets and Lies") and Omar Epps ("House"), the series currently airs on USA Tuesday nights with the season one finale set for Tuesday, January 17 at 10/9c.

A top 10 first season scripted drama series on ad-supported cable, SHOOTER is averaging 974K P18-49, 1.090MM P25-54 and 2.6MM P2+ in L7s and is USA's #1 new series year-to-date among P18-34 and P2+. "John Hlavin and the team behind SHOOTER have delivered a compelling action thriller that consistently engages a strong and loyal audience," said Chris McCumber, president of entertainment networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. "We look forward to partnering once again with Paramount Television and Universal Cable Productions as we follow Bob Lee into his next chapter."

SHOOTER is based on the best-selling novel "Point of Impact" by Stephen Hunter and the 2007 Paramount film starring Wahlberg. The series follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe), a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the President. When Swagger's former commanding officer, Isaac Johnson (Epps), solicits his expertise for a clandestine operation, Swagger discovers that he has been framed and must do everything in his power to protect his family and clear his name.

The series also stars Shantel VanSanten ("One Tree Hill"), Cynthia Addai-Robinson ("The Accountant") and Eddie McClintock ("Bones"). Notable guest stars this season include WWE Superstar Randy Orton ("WWE Raw"), William Fichtner ("The Dark Knight"), Desmond Harrington ("Dexter") and Beverly D'Angelo ("Entourage").
