ANGIE TRIBECA (TBS) - Ernie Hudson has been cast as the father to the titular heroine, played by Rashida Jones. (Deadline.com)
BLUEGRASS/BLOOD RED (ABC) - Ben Esler and Natalie Hall are the latest to board the Reba McEntire-led drama pilot as Hollis, "a shy, sweet and very odd guy taking care of his wheelchair-bound deaf grandmother who has no idea her grandson kidnaps women and keeps them prisoner in her attic"; and Jennifer, "a charming and very pretty party girl who enjoys meeting and hooking up with strange men and catches the eye of both a visiting FBI agent and a local psychopath." CHARLIE FOXTROT (ABC) - Sam Sklaver's single-camera comedy - about Captain Charlie Taylor, "a cautious, lovable dentist stationed at Fort Bragg who promises to look after his brother's impulsive fiancée and her two misfit teens while his brother is deployed in Iraq" - has been ordered to pilot by the Alphabet. Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment will also executive produce for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (ABC) - "Atlanta" star Brian Tyree Henry will guest in a top secret role on the February 9 episode of the series. (EW.com)
LAS REINAS (ABC) - Dean Georgaris's long-in-the-works drama - about Detective Sonya De La Reina, "who is forced to confront her past when a case compels her to reconnect with her estranged family: the most powerful criminal outfit in Miami" - has received a plot order from the network. The Mark Gordon Co.'s Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper will also executive produce the ABC Studios-based project. (Deadline.com)
LIBBY & MALCOLM (ABC) - Caitlin McGee has been cast in the Felicity Huffman/Courtney B. Vance-led comedy pilot as Zev, "a brazen producer on Libby and Malcolm's show." (Deadline.com)
REAL LIFE (CBS, New!) - Hilary Winston ("Bad Teacher") has scored a pilot order from the Eye for a hybrid comedy which "chronicles the relationship of two twentysomethings who go from being co-workers on opposite coasts to working in the same office." Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios are behind the half-hour with Carter Bays and Craig Thomas also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
SHANNARA CHRONICLES, THE (MTV) - Vanessa Morgan, Malese Jow, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie and Desmond Chiam are all bound for the show's sophomore run. Morgan will play Lyria, "a beautiful and mysterious, young woman who is romantically linked to Eretria"; with Jow as Mareth, "a volatile and unpredictable young woman with magical abilities"; White as Garet, "a skilled, sly, and charismatic bounty hunter known throughout the Four Lands as The Weapons Master"; Chikezie as Queen Tamlin, "the powerful and cunning Queen of Leah, the only human Kingdom in the Four Lands"; and Chiam as General Riga, "a once revered General in the Eventine's army, Riga is now the leader of an extremist group of Elvin soldiers known as The Crimson." SPLITTING UP TOGETHER (ABC) - Emily Kapnek has scored a pilot order for her single-camera comedy, about "a couple whose marriage is reignited by their divorce." The Warner Bros. Television project is based on the 2016 Danish series created by Mette Heeno. Kapnek, Heeno, Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman, Hella Joof and Mie Andreasen are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED AARON MCGRUDER PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Aaron McGruder ("The Boondocks") is developing a new drama at the streaming service "said to revolve around an alternate universe in the vein of "The Man in the High Castle.'" Norman Aladjem and Will Packer of Will Packer Productions are also set to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED KOURTNEY KANG PROJECT (NBC) - Kenneth Choi ("The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story") has been cast in the single-camera comedy pilot, about Katie (Isabella Russo), the only girl in the only mixed race family in the suburbs of Philadelphia in 1988. He'll play Katie's dad Clyde, "an insurance agent who seems to know exactly what to say to in order to diffuse tense situations." (Deadline.com)
YAQUI DELGADO WANTS TO KICK YOUR ASS (Hulu, New!) - Meg Medina's award-winning YA book - which "tells the story of a diverse, vibrant Brooklyn community confronting bullying, racial tensions and questions of identity" - is being developed as a drama at the streaming service. Dailyn Rodriguez is penning the hour with I Can and I Will Productions' Gina Rodriguez and 3pas Studios' Eugenio Derbez and Ben Odell likewise executive producing for Universal Television. Jessica Pavao and Emily Gipson will serve as producers with Medina as a consulting producer. (Deadline.com)
