AMERICAN IDOL (NBC) - A revival of FremantleMedia's former FOX staple reportedly may be in the works at NBC. No deal however is in place. (Variety.com)
CROWN, THE (Netflix) - Michael C. Hall and Jodi Balfour have been cast as Jack and Jackie Kennedy on the show's upcoming second season. (Deadline.com)
DOOMSDAY (ABC) - Dan Byrd ("Cougar Town") is the first to be cast in the drama pilot as Nate Hensley: "Nate became rich as a professional analyst and is the founder of The New Oracle, a website that is devoted to predicting politics, sports and stock trading. He can hedge any bet and predict any outcome." (Deadline.com)
EDISON (HBO, New!) - John Roberts is set to star in a potential half-hour dark musical comedy series at the pay channel about John (Roberts), "a 40-year-old real estate broker who dreams of living life in the big city but remains stuck in his small hometown of Edison, NJ." Roberts and H. Jon Benjamin co-wrote the project for Universal Television with 3 Arts Entertainment's Dave Becky and Paper Kite's Amy Poehler and Brooke Posch also serving as executive producers. GET, THE (CBS) - James Strong has signed on to direct and executive produce the drama pilot, about a team of tireless internet journalists who pursue and expose stories of injustice using their unconventional investigative techniques in today's anything-goes world of reporting. (Deadline.com)
HIGHER GROUND (CBS) - Richard Shepard is set to direct and executive produce the drama pilot, which centers on an elite team of investigators for the Northeast Regional U.S. Hate Crimes Unit who must confront their own biases as they keep the peace by solving myriad crimes against humanity while acting locally but thinking of the national repercussions. LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Missy Peregrym will drop by the veteran drama as "a top-tier investment banker who accuses her billionaire client (Tate Donovan) of rape." Jordan Bridges also appears as "the supervisor of Peregrym's character." (TVLine.com)
LOOSELY EXACTLY NICOLE/MARY + JANE (MTV) - The cable channel has passed on second seasons for both of its freshman comedies. Said entries averaged just 198,000 viewers and 368,000 viewers, respectively, in Live + Same Day. No decision has been made on "Sweet/Vicious," which delivered 180,000 viewers on average. MAGICIANS, THE (Syfy) - Marlee Matlin is bound for the show's March 29 episode as Harriet, "the woman in charge of a website called "Fuzzbeat" that deals in news - as well as Top 10 lists and cat videos." (EW.com)

UNTITLED MARVEL ACTION-ADVENTURE SERIES (FOX) - Blair Redford ("Satisfaction") is the first to be cast in the drama pilot as Sam, "the strong-headed Native American leader of the underground network." (EW.com)
UNTITLED MENENDEZ BROTHERS PROJECT (Lifetime) - Nico Tortorella and Myko Olivier have been tapped to play brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez on the docudrama with Benito Martinez also on board as their father Jose Menendez. They join the previously announced Courtney Love, who plays mother Kitty Menendez. (Deadline.com)
WHAT WOULD DIPLO DO? (Viceland) - Dillon Francis and Dora Madison have both been cast in the James Van Der Beek-led comedy. Francis will play Randy with Madison as Karen, Diplo's assistant. Comedians Jamar Malachi Neighbors and Bobby Lee have also been cast in unspecified roles. (Deadline.com)
WISDOM OF THE CROWD (CBS, New!) - Ted Humphrey has scored a pilot order from the Eye for a new drama, based on the Israeli format of the same name, about "a tech innovator who creates a cutting-edge crowd-sourcing hub to solve his own daughter's murder, as well as revolutionizing crime solving in San Francisco." CBS Television Studios and Universal Television are both behind the hour with Algorithm Entertainment's Humphrey and Keshet Studios' Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott, Rachel Kaplan, Dror Mishani and Shira Hadad likewise executive producing.
