AT&T AUDIENCE Network Set to Premiere Exclusive Documentary "American Standoff"

Original Film Tells the Story of the Armed Takeover of Oregon's Malheur Wildlife Refuge

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., April 10, 2017 -- AT&T*AUDIENCE(R) Network is releasing a new documentary featuring the ongoing fight for land rights in the western U.S. and conflicts that led to the Malheur Standoff.

The AUDIENCE original documentary, "American Standoff," will premiere May 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and is available exclusively to DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW and AT&T U-verse customers.

"American Standoff" follows the story of the Hammonds, an Oregon ranching family. Their 20-year fight with government agencies led to their controversial trial and conviction on an anti-terrorism charge. With never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews, the documentary tells a story as tragic and incredible as the West itself.

The film was directed and shot by Josh Turnbow and produced by Robert Dvoran - both AT&T AUDIENCE Network employees.

"We're thrilled to share the story of the Hammonds and their trying experience in Oregon," said Turnbow. "Following this family and spending time with the locals gave us a unique look into their lives beyond the media coverage."

"Our team did a fantastic job capturing the heart-wrenching story of a ranching family on the wrong side of the law and the group of protesters who tried to come to their aid in 'America Standoff,'" said Christopher Long, head of the AT&T AUDIENCE Network.

Producer/Director Josh Turnbow began his career as a production assistant in film, television and commercials. After excelling in many aspects of production, like coordinating, line producing and camera, he combined these talents and began exploring his own creative projects. He worked with a wide range of notable clients, including Will Smith, Guillermo Navarro and Annie Leibovitz.

Josh joined AT&T AUDIENCE Network in 2012. He produced and directed 5 seasons of the AUDIENCE original sports documentary series "BKB Unfiltered." His first feature documentary with AUDIENCE was "The Observed Life."

"American Standoff" will be available May 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT On Demand on DIRECTV and U-verse platforms. AT&T AUDIENCE Network is available on DIRECTV Ch. 239 or U-verse TV Ch. 1114 and via live streaming on the DIRECTV and U-verse apps and DIRECTV NOW.
