ADVENTURE CAMERAMAN LEADS THE JOURNEY TO UNCOVER MYSTERIOUS CREATURES IN "EXPEDITION MUNGO"

-- All New Series Sets Course on Sunday, May 28 at 10 PM ET/PT --

When adventure beckons, Mungo is there. Mungo, known as one of the premiere adventure cameramen, has traveled to more than 90 countries to capture the world's wild and wonderful - and sometimes hostile - environments. Mungo now steps in front of the camera to lead viewers on his own adventures, exploring myth and legends he's heard of during his 20 years traveling the world in Animal Planet's new series, EXPEDITION MUNGO, which premieres Sunday, May 28 at 10 PM ET/PT.

Throughout Mungo's travels, he encountered locals with fascinating, bone-chilling tales of mythical creatures that have been passed down as legend and lore from generation to generation. Now he leads a trusted team of fellow adventurers to some of the most remote and undiscovered corners of the globe in hopes of separating fact from fiction. On each quest, Mungo meets with eye witnesses, searching for clues and evidence in hopes of capturing these myths and legends on camera to reveal the truth behind some of the wildest stories and most mysterious animals. Mungo and his team will travel the globe in search for answers . . . from Asia to Africa to South America.

Legends include: an unidentified dragon-like reptile terrorizing a village in Borneo; a shape-shifting creature that locals in the savanna in Namibia believed to be linked to witchcraft; and a massive lizard in Liberia looking very much like a dinosaur thought to be extinct.

EXPEDITION MUNGO is produced for Animal Planet by Blast! Films. For Blast! Films, Ed Coulthard and Jon Stephens are executive producers, and Craig Blackhurst is series producer. For Animal Planet, Keith Hoffman is executive producer and Sarah Russell serves as producer. The series was developed by Kurt Tondorf, senior vice president and head of development for Animal Planet and Science Channel.
