Undercover is a fictional crime series inspired by a series of real life events. Undercover is produced by Jan Theys (Salamander), writer and showrunner Nico Moolenaar (Vermist) and directed by Eshref Reybrouck (Cordon) and Frank Devos (Chaussée D'amour). Netflix is partnering with production company De Mensen (Blockx, The Dare, Hotel Beau Sejour), Dutch Filmworks and VRT to premiere Undercover to Netflix members globally, except for France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland where Netflix will be following local broadcasters.

Nico Moolenaar, showrunner said "I'm extremely proud and excited to be part of Netflix's first Belgian/Dutch co-production. With stars like Frank Lammers, Anna Drijver, Tom Waes, Elise Schaap, Kevin Janssens amongst others, we unite the biggest talents of both countries. Netflix has given us the opportunity to share this international, thrilling, funny and sexy story with a worldwide audience"

Producer Jan Theys said "I found it incredible to learn that the Netherlands and Belgium are such a huge part of the global drug trafficking network and Nico and the whole writing team have done a fantastic job of bringing this remarkable story to life onscreen".
