Netflix to Bring to Its Members Globally New Series "A Korean Odyssey"

NETFLIX TO BRING TO ITS MEMBERS GLOBALLY NEW SERIES "A KOREAN ODYSSEY"

November 30, Seoul, Korea - Netflix Inc., the world's leading internet entertainment service, is bringing to its members globally A Korean Odyssey, a new TV series from director Park Hong-Kyun of The Greatest Love and by the Hong sisters(Hong Mi-Ran, Hong Jung-Eun), the writers of Master's Sun. The series is being made by Studio Dragon, creators of Goblin and Signal.

"We are thrilled to work with Studio Dragon to bring A Korean Odyssey to our global members," said Rob Roy, Vice President of Content Acquisition at Netflix. "Netflix is committed to bringing great Korean stories to audiences around the world."

A Korean Odyssey is a series inspired by the classic novel, Journey to the West (Xi You Ji). It features Lee Seung-Gi as the powerful Son Oh-Gong, Cha Seung-Won as Woo Hwi-Chul the portrayal of Bull Demon King in the original story, and Oh Yeon-Seo as Jin Sun-Mi who plays an important role of Xuanzang.

With A Korean Odyssey, Netflix will also bring Prison Playbook and Argon onto its service. Prison Playbook is a comedic drama about a famous baseball player who suddenly ends up in jail, and Argon is about journalists who fight for the truth in the world of fake news.

A Korean Odyssey will be available on Netflix from late December of this year. A Korean Odyssey, Prison Playbook, Argon, and others are part of multi title partnership between Netflix and CJ E&M. Netflix currently has 109 million global members.
